Re: I smiled because...

Moldovan pop music makes me smile. If it was a country I always felt sorry it didn't win Eurovision, that's Moldova.

Some of the little ones from the Kindergarten across the way are wearing woolly hats with pom-poms as big as their little heads, too cute

Re: I smiled because...

I was cycling through the countryside today and there are sunflowers popping up all over the place in the fields that have been left fallow.

Re: I smiled because...

... I perfectly estimated the size of replacement dice needed for a game I got from a Brockie which was missing a few dice ... and since you need to construct stuff from the dice for the game, the size is important.

On my run today - I saw quite a few people swiming. A bunch of people in shorts, a big hoard of devil's angels and about 100 cyclists.

Re: I smiled because...

The ravens - or is it the crows? - are doing their thing again: They drop their walnuts from great height on the street, then enjoy the contents.
I kind of feel guilty every time I disturb them by coming up by car. And there are soooo many doing this on the streets around my place.

Wonder if they will get fatter this fall due to less traffic in covid times?

Re: I smiled because...

I remember a video on TV years ago - crows in Japan using cars and traffic lights as tools. Carefully putting walnuts on the white line by the lights, when red- then watching from the top of the lights when green and the cars crashing the nuts. Then down again on red to take crushed nuts off the line, and repeat. They are so so clever.

They also remember faces, so be nice to them - then they'll be your friends.

Re: I smiled because...

Oh I know, I have a pair of semi-tamed crows here- I have learnt crow-speak and come as soon as I call them. I wonder what they think of my accet- but then I have a weird accent in English, so why not in crow lol

Re: I smiled because...

I glanced at an article in the news about leggins. Then there was a debate section with comments. They all were almost exclusively from guys.

Woke up to thick fog- very unusual up here- but by 9.00 the sun was burning it off - and by 9.30 it had all gone, making way to very bright sunshine and 15C.

Re: I smiled because...

I've spent 3 weeks looking for a big roll of brown wrapping paper without success. Had an appointment for a flu jab this afternoon, on the walk back I went onto our local small COOP, lo and behold I found a huge roll of it for 4f 50. I'm now a happy lady

Re: I smiled because...

I drew a tub and disappeared under the water, the silence was bliss. Except somehow I could actually hear neighbors' sounds better than outside...

What do I do with a middle ear-ache? I ran before, on top, the wind was deadly freezing.

Congrats.
I wondered how you would "remember" that, then saw it is set in stone in the profile. So 10.10.2006 it was .... an other Swiss. What I do remember though: I signed up to get help installing a satellite dish. (those were the days ). And got the help.

This is a new profile for me because my old one was deleted after a period of non-use, but I also originally signed up around the same time as you. I did get to meet the famous and sadly departed Mark on more than one occasion in the early years of EF.

How different would this place be if he was still the one calling the shots.

I do so agree with this statement.

Never met him
personally, but enjoyed a few discussions with him on here. Not to forget, that there was a wholly different spirit reigning in EF

So I smile again today, remembering the good old days
