There are more sophisticated versions, but this one is just fine and very reasonable in price, if you want to know what happens in your garden at night

I passed one of our neighbors in the stairwell this morning. He's about 6 feet tall and might be a former rugby player his shoulders are so broad. He was wearing a long, red wig and a gold crown, and a very pretty full-length mermaid dress and carrying a trident. He flashed a huge grin and yelled PARTY as he headed to his car. :)

... because my little 9 year old Ukrainian pupil is loving her French lessons and picking things up so quickly. Impressive for a little one who does is used to another alphabet.

Last night we took dog we are looking after for pre bed garden piddle, and she almost crashed into the hedgehog who was looking for the soaked croquettes I had forgotten to put out. And now we know where it is living as it made a beeline for the garden house- and the gap behind the fitted seat.

I haven't yet covered the bottom half of the window in the new kitchen on the top story of This Old House. If I stand at my sink, I can look down onto the house-behind's kitchen cooktop and counter. This morning the 11-year-old son (alias The Dreaded) had on a flowery apron and was making Mother's Day lunch.

Someone here today mentionned 2049 - and it made me laugh and wonder.

I shall be pushing 100 - with my family history that could just about be. But probably will have gone the Exit route- proud to the very end of being a Remainer and European.

OH will definitely be pushing daisies.

Daughters will be both pensionners.

Grand-children will be 43 and 39.

Here in Brazil it's so frozen!!!:msnshock::msncrazy:. In the South region it snows!! That remembers me when I lived in Geneva: color white in everywhere.

… I have received permission as a third country (UK) person to start the next stage in my career, and life, in Switzerland.

I smiled today, because this Weißbier is extremely smooth, and the asparagus perfectly cooked.

Have a lovely rest of your evening.

Fly to the UK in a couple of days and just found my (naturalised Swiss) daughter's British passport has expired. Quick trip to Basel airport and half an hour later (and 150 francs lighter), she's got a temporary Swiss passport.

:D

How long does a temporary passport last for?

Ours are just about finishing.

I smiled because a mother sparrow was collecting insects and feeding them to her two fledglings on our lawn. The babies looked pretty much grown up but she obviously felt that they still needed a bit of a helping hand.

I received an email where it's notified that my paper posted in a website is a bibliographical reference for some university works. My next step is to post it in English version. What a challenge!

... because I was allowed to hold a tiny new baby in my arms and on my shoulder for a couple of hours - with proud and happy friends looking on. Gorgeous.

We heard a cat fight in the wheat field next to the house and assumed it was our older cat asserting his authority in the neighbourhood until we saw him jump out of his bed, run out through the open front door, hurtle down the path at a rate rarely shown by him these days and head off into the field.
Some loud growling and hissing ensued and then our one year old female cat jumped out of the field closely followed by her knight in shining armour aka our 11 year old cat and they both came indoors.

He wasn’t awfully enamoured by her when we first got her but that has definitely changed now

Sounds like a sibling thing - "Nobody's allowed to beat them up but me!"

When you meet English people in the shops in your area, where there are so few 'expats', and you wonder if that was ybxyz from EF?
