Re: I smiled because...

One of my female friends met a guy and it's a nice love story going on

I'm so happy for her, she deserved to meet that nice guy.

Re: I smiled because...

..... I got made redundant today.

That may seem an odd thing to be smiling about, but I have come to realise that health and happiness are more important than sticking with the wrong job. To make matters better, I am on 'gardening leave' until the end of my contract.

This presents lots of new opportunities for me that I may not have taken whilst in stable employment. As the saying goes "As one door closes, another opens". When I got back home I received a PM from a forum member with some possible leads in Switzerland. Now if I believed in fate .....

Thanks for these leads, you know who you are so I won't embarrass you publicly. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Perhaps I may still get to move to Switzerland.

Hey DP, congrats!! In a way I'm envious but it would get too complicated if it happened to me. I hope it all works out for you.

Congrats, and best wishes! I went through a similar "loss" late last year, and it had some very positive effects.

...and I smiled because my commute took less than half its normal time.

Re: I smiled because...

great news for all on the job front...losing a job (esp one where your heart wasnt in) is the first step to getting the one where and exactly what you want...

me, im smiling cuz im still on my family vacation high...what a pleasure to know how nice it is to be home with people you love, lots of sun, beach and tropical trees. and coming back to c.h and all this sunshine doesnt hurt either, even if i am stuck using a french keyboard
