Re: I smiled because...

I'm smiling because we just discovered Ricardo. Have just bought an enormous piece of furniture - the Swiss call it a Buffet, DB calls it a sideboard (aren't sideboards usually low though?), I'd call it a hutch or a Hoosier cabinet - for CHF1.

Now all we have to do is drive halfway across the country to pick it up.

Re: I smiled because...

Ricardo has been very good to us past few years, so was Salvation Army, slightly less kind price wise but still great deals.

Bufet is my secret dream piece of furniture, when we finally get a place with a dining room, yeah!

I smiled today because I was told a nose has hairs to keep the boogers warm.

Today I smiled because I got to see my 14 year old senior citizen Beagle play like a puppy with a Chihuahua.

I think in the UK we call it a dresser (and many of them are welsh).
Hope you really enjoy it - better than Ikea anyday I'm sure.

Re: I smiled because...

.....when I bought a gorgeous suede jacket - in my perfect size - for 12 CHF at the second-hand shop.
I frowned when it cost me 85 CHF at the cleaner's.........

But then I smiled again when I bought an almost new cast iron Le Creuset casserole for 15 CHF.
I love that shop!!

Re: I smiled because...

Very very true. Since I have been in a process of putting my summer clothes away since September last year, I smiled since now, I can just keep them out and don't have to bother and put the winter ones to sleep.

What else made me smile was talking to my family yesterday and finding out, it's 5 degrees back there, auch. Ok, skirts, nylons and heels, here we go!

Re: I smiled because...

And I am jealous!

I smiled because last night we had a the best book club/dinner meet up ever, despite the weird waitress who made us all feel like we can't say anything right in french and us persevering, hahaha...

Cheers to her cranky self and us, the fearless VD EFers...

today I was limping because of a sore ankle and when my 2yr old saw that i was in pain he went and grabbed a bandaid and offered it to me. a short time later he noticed that i was still limping, he yelled "mama, another bandaid!!" so he went and grabbed another one for me. my sweet sweet boy. i'll be smiling in my sleep tonight.
