Re: I smiled because...

... dog plunged into the river several times today and played with a couple of other dogs while we were walking in the woods. While we picked Bärlauch, she ran through the plants as though she was trying to help. Plus, this evening I made chicken wontons in soup while wearing shorts. Ah, simple things.

because it is a beautiful SPring day - I've planted a hazel tree, a forsythia and some perenials, done lots of weeding, pruned my roses and my neighbours', tidied the shed - cream crackered but happy.

...because it's spring here too, where a day-trip to the country yielded a carload of pecan wood (chopped it myself) for smoking, and some tomato and blackberry (trans)plants from mom's garden.

Re: I smiled because...

... I managed to prevent myself from throttling my colleague who tore a strip off me for a decision made by someone else completely, which has nothing to do with me whatsoever.

Calm... calm... calm... smiling...

I'm glad that you are smiling again after this. I guess that I will have to take my turn when I visit soon.

She was BMX racing, and had a bad fall it happened right in front of me it was awful they had to put a drip in her foot to get the drugs in asap, rushed to hospital in an ambulance luckily she did not need to have them operated on.

Re: I smiled because...

It's Miss Bella Niña Chihuahua Extraordinaires's 5th the birthday. "Bells" came into our lives when we really needed something and every day is a real pleasure to have her. She is clever and could be a therapy dog- after my last surgery she would crawl slowly up to me, awaiting commands to come closer and then would avoid my stomach (yep, I explained to the two dogs "be careful"), whereas the other one was"1-2-3 JUMP". She lets young children pet her and when they are really young goes up to them slowly and rolls over allowing the parents to take the childs hand and caress her tummy. She is a bit naughty though and hides when it's walkies, also hides under my bed (a room she never goes into) when there are guests and is a bit tarty around men.

Anywoof, I'm not a dog person, but this little one makes me smile.

I am smiling even more today. The weather here is wonderful. I am looking out over lake Geneva from my 5th floor window with the full moon reflecting off the water. Beautiful

Re: I smiled because...

I smiled because my neighbour gave me a nice bottle of red wine earlier, just because her damn clothes were still in the dryer when it was my turn to do laundry (&!*%£!&!!!), so I took them out and folded them.

The Kill-Them-With-Niceness emotional blackmail really works.

Re: I smiled because...

I smiled because I got free treats today while I was out putting together an Easter Basket for my very nice neighbor who has been helping me.

First treat at Manor from a woman giving out Lindt mini eggs to try.

Second (and best imo) was a small piece of chocolate I got as an unexpected reward for giving some needed items to folks who were collecting (also at Manor).

Third treat was a piece of Leckerli from the Basler Leckerli Haus.

Buying something nice to give to someone who did something nice, also getting something nice for doing something nice for someone else. So, it was a treat day for me (as I don't often get to buy goodies at places like that) all around.
