Re: I smiled because...

I had to laugh at myself...since for the first time in my ironing history (I learned when I was little) I did not iron the bed linen last week. And put it in the armoire. And thought about it about 1000 times.. I think next time I am just going to iron it no matter how little time there is, to spare myself the thoughts.

Ironing Angst- I wonder what Freud would have said about it LOL.

Must say, although I am Swiss, our house is very 'lived in and relaxed'- but I love good quality cotton sheets, and the sheer luxury of getting into a bed with ironed sheets - so yes, I do iron them. I have one of those good quality tank steam iron, and always iron them when still very slightly damp- and it does not take that long, really

I smiled today because I picked loads of huge tasty raspberries from the garden this morning I just love fresh raspberries

I know...Freud would have feasted on my obscene lust for nice, well washed, crisp ironed cotton sheets. I can have whoever telling me emancipation starts with unironed laundry, but it's one big bull, if you ask me.

Raspberries make me smile, too. Because they taste like heaven and are called what was it...lampone in Italian.

Emancipation starts with the choice to iron - whatever pleases you!

But we can all agree on raspberries. Mmmmmmm.

True. I just need a new iron. The tank iron sounds good, made me smile.

You really are obsessing about ironing today! Now I understand what's up with the pic you posted on how you're feeling today.

If you want to feel better, you can come over and iron my sheets. There are at least 3 sets in the armoire that would appreciate your loving ironing touch over my folding straight crom the tumbler.

One thing I do miss from the UK is a proper airing cupboard (a cupboard where the hot water tank is, with shelves above- and always warm and dry for sheets and towels).

Hahahaha, I wish I could. But I do have about 30 kilo of laundry to take care of, I think the idea of emancipating myself from the old, jackass iron was a good one.

(young Steve Martin does not look that bad, does he, with a kitten and an iron)

I agree Odile.
My 82 year old parents have just had their hot water tank removed from the airing cupboard and a boiler put in, to replace the old boiler which was behind a gas fire in their living room.
Mum and dad spent a whole day cleaning, tidying and painting the airing cupboard so that they could still use it to store bedding and towels.
When I visited last week I had a guided tour of their lovely clean newly painted, and still warm cupboard!

I just smiled because that's what gruyere does to me. And then I think about brushing my teeth again, it makes me smile more.

Hahahaha....yes! Some other types make me spit stuff out.

Gruyere, plain dairy happiness, it has to be hard to bite into and resist my teeth a bit. Nuts and raisins, I mean natures candy do that to me, too.

Oh no, cheese neutralizes acids in your mouth, you dont need to brush your teeth after only munching some cubes or slices of fat cheese. It is also said that it reduces the harmful bacteria in our mouth.

I know I know...

Yet try to make a career in speech delivery and people management, since that's what's teaching is about, and try not to think about the cheese aftermath in your mouth (and everybody that can tell the type of cheese you had, hahahah, ick)

Cute, kiss-able stranger on the train? Is this a new species? When did it show up in your train? (it is a mutant, I tell ya)
