Girl and boy! How lovely
At least you're able to tell them apart.

Congratulations again, DB.

I'll certainly be happy to have my babies paying for my retirement pension when the times come...

...say I, curled up into a ball with my youngest offspring, probably the sweetest feeling ever...

I held a darling baby boy in my arms this afternoon. He fell asleep and then I handed him to his sweet mama.
I smiled, I had forgotten how truly beautiful new life is, so small, so precious.

There are three new EF babies.. Congratulations to Mélusine as well as DB and MathNut
And many blessings to all

Re: I smiled because...

On the train from Zug yesterday evening were two young ladies drinking Prosecco. They were discussing boys and making us quite amused. One thought we might be understanding what they were talking about, however the other assured her we're English and so didn't know what they were on with.
Later in the trip they decided they needed a white wine opening too, but didn't have a corkscrew. They tried various keys to no avail. One then went up and down the carriage asking if anyone had such a thing, but didn't ask us: Boo! I was already to do my bestest boy-scout impression. I asked the wife if I should offer mine: she shook a no, we're having too many laughs listening to them.
Anyways, there is an English boy in Zug called Sam and all the girls agree he is very good at a certain something, so if you're reading this Sam, keep it up! The memory of your exploits, relayed by the recipients, will make me smile for quite a while.

Go, Sam, Go....!

We went to a fab sport day today, tried many of them, then played chess and Salsa danced, had an amazing BBQ at friends, played with a giant toad called Hulk, went to a pro free concert, Brahms on a horn was phenomenal, and then walked around the beach to get the step count my girl needs for a class assignment. Phew. I am still smiling.

Actually there are more than three new little ones, but as it's not my place to announce other people's happy news, I'll just say congratulations to all!

Re: I smiled because...

....I made a bed up tonight. Lovingly smoothed out the sheet. Plumped the pillows in their fresh smelling cases and gave the quilt an extra shake as I pulled on it's covers.
Tomorrow it will be rumpled and filled with two dear loved ones and in my minds eye I can see them already, peacefully sleeping under my roof, safe and sound. My heart is full.

Re: I smiled because...

While on my morning walk, I passed the munchkins from the local kita on their way to the primary school. All of them wearing cute fall jackets and those reflective bibs, and holding hands 2x2. As I passed each pair, they looked up at me and said "Grüessech!" with great enthusiasm. So cute to get that from 20 little people, and the teachers with them were beaming with pride at how well-behaved the kids were.

Re: I smiled because...

Recently, an Immigrations Officer at Zurich Airport got confused (in a nice way) when I handed her my British passport after having greeted her in Swiss-German whilst handing it to her for review.

Her response on seeing it wasn't a Swiss one (yet): "Oh! I thought you were Swiss".
