Swiss Garages rip off prices [or not, in this case;)]

A couple of evenings ago a bolt worked its way loose and fell off the car from the gear linkage, right outside a Renault garage, even though they saw me, heard me, had me pull up on there forecourt and open the bonnet all the mechanics pretended not to see me and buggered off home (it was 7pm) so I crawled under the car, cable tied the linkage back up and limped the mile or so down the road to another garage (screw you Renault garage).

The guys where still there, I explained the problem in pigeon german and there pigeon English and left it with them, I know it had lost the main bolt and a huge compression washer so assumed I'd be charged an hours labour and parts, how wrong was I ???

The mrs picked the keys up lastnight and asked for the bill

No Charge !!! they said it was only 10 minutes work, bolt, washer, job done, looking online the parts should have been about 10 quid, so about 50 swissies lol.

So if you need a garage, and you're anywhere near Glarus give these guys a try

The owner loves English cars

* note - we do buy tires etc from this garage, so the owner does already know us

Re: Swiss Garages rip off prices

Yesterday, I needed a special BMW tool to remove the rod bolts on my friend's boxer, ordered the tool, then thought that the local shop may have one.

They did, and lent it to me, and didn't even charge me.

Bastards!

Tom
