Re: The Swiss Rules you love to break

I once forgot my Cumulus card when shopping in Migros (soooooooooo embarassing).

It took me a couple of months to strike up the courage to shop there again, and still always search the queues to make sure there are no-housewives or elderly ladies who witnessed my previous downfall.

Re: The Swiss Rules you love to break

I sometimes do the recycling (glass and aluminium) on a Sunday - how would it be possible for everybody to do it during regular work hours and other stuff?

Of course, when I do it, I'm wearing a hoodie covering my face...

Re: The Swiss Rules you love to break

In the sanctity of my own home I answer the phone with a simple 'Hello?'. I do not state my name as Swiss practice requires.

Given that it's usually a telemarketer, I enjoy listening to callers' heads explode as they try to process an unexpected encounter.

>Once, at around 9:30, I put on another load of washing, even though I knew it would go beyond the 10PM limit.

>Sometimes, If I have an early flight, I will have a shower at 4AM. I might even push the boat out, and use the toilet too.

>Occasionally, I will park overnight in the visitors car park!

>If I feel like living dangerously, I wont switch off the car at a train crossing.

We do most things mentioned here on a daily basis..A friend who since moved away would refuse to buy the ZüriSack, instead stuffing her trash pieces into the neighbors' ZüriSäcke at night

Re: The Swiss Rules you love to break

- I don't three-kiss everyone that I vaguely know, when we meet.

- At big family dinners, I don't clink glasses and say 'santé' looking into their eyes, with 10+ other people, and let my newly arrived food get cold .... I just put my glass into the air and say 'cheers' and begin to eat.

- I put my empty wine bottles in the glass recycling without removing the screw cap and putting separately in the metal skip.

I didn't say "Gesundheit!" when my colleague sneezed the other day. He looked like he wanted to rip my head off.

Re: The Swiss Rules you love to break

Whilst waiting for the bus I once saw a youth scribble Hitler moustaches on an SVP candidate poster in Kannenfeld Park, Basel.
Not only did I not report his vandalism to the authorities, I also gave him a silent round of applause.

Sometimes if there are no cars behind me, in front of me, no cars at all ..... I don`t indicate when leaving a traffic circle.

I had to really scratch to find that one ...... the rest of you are just so blatantly criminal!

Her neighbour clearly wasn't Swiss; if they were, the slightest addition of items would have caused the sack to explode violently under the pressure.

Is there a special Swiss device for this - getting the sack full with precisely 35.00l of waste, no air pockets or rips? Like the newspaper tying frame thing.

I have invested in a Pressboy of these to crush the rubbish.

I once had a birthday and didn't bother to bring croissants for the entire department, since nobody knew it was my birthday. Saved me a clean 30-40 chf right there!
