Just no joy around here- we keep trying, parties till 3am with lots of music, washing out on a Sunday, mowing the lawn after 8pm - and nobody bats an eyelid ... this is sooo boring, I just want to be bad, and they won't let me
Have you moved back to England?

I don't say "En guete" to everyone I walk past between 11:30 and 13:30 every day.

noooo in England we couldn't have a dog in our flat, couldn't take the dog to the restaurant or Café and the Church bells ring all the time, through the night, non stop- not allowed to dry washing on balcony - I would be constantly in trouble there

I hide my windowed envelopes between the pile of newspaper for recycling. Even my son who collects the paper piles with his schoolmates was shocked and was about to inform the Gemeinde but.... his swiss genes are recessive.

I did not remove the paper surround of my Co-op yoghurt before throwing my non-recyclable pot into the bin...my wife immediately retrieved it and told me to show greater citizenship if I were to ever be Swiss-naturalised one day!

Re: The Swiss Rules you love to break

I am stumped. Cannot think of a single thing. The rest? No way. I have no intention of spending my remaining days in a bamboo cage in the centre square being jabed by sticks.

On my death bed you will get it all.

Re: The Swiss Rules you love to break

I forgot to buy a ticket when travelling 2 stops outside the ZVV zones. Amazingly, a ticket inspector was on the train just as it was pulling out of my last valid stop and waived me on. I still bought an extension ticket because I felt bad.

Re: The Swiss Rules you love to break

Laundry on a Sunday, and leaving my car with an engine running for the AC to cool the car after a day outside while having a fag outside on the public parking area! Oh God, the horror!!!
