Re: Today was realy cold

Give me cold any day rather than damp! Up here above the fog and cloud, it does get very cold- but never damp- pheeew.

Anything above 30 and I struggle, and if humid- I feel as if I am dying. 22 to 26 - perfect!

At 950 altitude, it always gets cooler overnight with a little breeze- with all the windows wide opened- perfect sleep.

I can understand the OP. I'm Canadian, people keep telling me I should know better but after 11 years out of the country, I'm not very good with cold (I never was). Almost 4 years in Barcelona made me freeze last winter here.
Started wearing socks again today....

It upsets the older members when people come in with new ideas; pass the port!

Re: Today was realy cold

Too cold for me today too! This time last year I was getting yelled at in the street for wearing shorts and tieing my jacket around my waist as I felt warm... My second year here and I'm dressing more like the locals I've had gloves and winter boots all week (I still wore shorts on Monday though! But with tights!)

Why on earth the groan though, Tom???

Can't you imagine that someone from Africa may find the cold a bit of a shock?
Probably because it was, objectively speaking, a childishly worded post.

Oh I see- it is obvious the OP is not a native English speaker, so a bit of tolerance would be good... a groan is way ott.

Must be truly cold up there on that pedestal ...

That really depends on the significance that you attach to a groan given on the the internet... which in your case, is too much.

Re: Today was realy cold

I started out the morning in Como (italy), and then traveled all afternoon by train. It was warm and sunny until Gotthard and then mostly gray. Winterthur is quite foggy and cold.

It was warm and sunny in Ticino - looked like a lovely day in Lugano. Not so much up north.

Re: Today was realy cold

I didn't really notice. Picked lunch (chard) & dinner (spinach & rocket leaves) from the garden in my wellies. It was a bit damp but didn't seem cold.

Groaned you- as you made me laugh. Water over a ducks back for me and I can live with 1.4% lol - but really unfair on a newbie.

FTFY. It didn't come across to me as childish. I suspect your objectivity is in fact a narrow cultural view.

A few years ago it was -20°C here. We spent a weekend in Barcelona - a sweltering 2°C. It actually felt warm!

Cold?

I was running in a t-shirt at lunch.

Actually, today was quite warm.

And it's going to be getting warmer.

Tom
I'm pretty sure the OP was talking about Switzerland, though.
