Lukenberg has no particular reputation at present
What's like to wake up in Switzerland?

Hello, yesterday I gone to sleep at ~10:00, but suddenly neighbours launched washing machine and it stopped at around ~12:10, but I can't sleep if I go to late (insomnia) so I took sleep supplements and slept around 01:00. Now woke up and my head, heart are exploding due to medicine...

What's your worst night in Switzerland, if there is one ?

Mine was the night my twins had croup. One caught it bad enough he had to go to the hospital - my husband went in the ambulance with him and I stayed home, terrified for my little son and listening to his sister struggle to breathe. Eventually dozed off for an hour around 5am and hated myself for being able to. Up again at 6am to go visit him in the children's hospital.

I must say the night my 3 kids and I all had a stomach bug at the same time is pretty high on my list of hell on earth

Haven't really had a bad night, but your post did little to enhance my morning.

If someone is using the washing machine after 10pm and you can't sleep as a direct result of it then speak to the person responsible, or report it to your Verwaltung.

That's the result of the independence of the Baltic States ..... unrestricted use of washing machines after 10.00pm.
It would never happen here, when big brother is watching.

Their first post expressed a vague interest in possibly studying here .... but, yes, this thread has very tenuous connections.

Re: What's like to wake up in Switzerland?

Probably one of the times I'd partied too much and lay in bed contemplating every mistake I'd ever made/lay on the bathroom floor between being sick

Other than self-inflicted horrific nights, I think Swiss nights are great for sleeping! At 3am here you could hear a pin drop (unless there's some bell-end British girl up and paying for her indulgences these times are rare though I have to say about 3 times a year!)

Re: What's like to wake up in Switzerland?

My Father died on a Sunday morning in the UK. I had to spend that night away from my family.

Luckily my friends rallied round and got me a flight for the Monday.

That was a bad night, that Sunday. Even though my friends were there, i needed my family. It was a long and sleepless night. Between boughts of crying and phone calls etc.

That was my worst morning in Switzerland.

But we have always said, at least i didn't live in Australia.
