Dreary.........i would have thought a uniform brown landscape somewhat more dreary than the varied colours you find in Switzerland

Cold, rainy damp ? yes i agree today, but we have had fantastic weather since July here, even up until mid November it was 15C outside, at 800m altitude.
Yes, California has been suffering from a long drought but the weather is WAY WAY BETTER than CH.

Sure i guess it is if you want wall to wall sunshine and no rain, but if you prefer a little variation and reasonable defined seasons, then maybe not
