Here is the address details of the shop in Lucerne
https://nur-asian-super-shop.business.site/

Or you could order it online here
https://www.cnpmarket.ch/
Thanks for that.

The online place looks great and looks like it will have everything I need. Not sure why I didn't find it in a google search.

There are plenty of Indian supermarkets in Zürich where they sell paneer. I have bought several times. I recommend it.
https://www.aggarwal.ch/

Palak Paneer (all time fav)- https://www.vegrecipesofindia.com/palak-paneer/
Mutter Paneer ( Mutter means Peas) - https://www.indianhealthyrecipes.com...mutter-masala/

Have fun cooking
I have to report back: I made Palak Paneer not only because I generally like spinach but I already had all the ingredients and didn't have to buy anything else. It was delicious, well at least for us adults but I didn't expect the kids to eat anything with spinach...so that's not relevant.

It's a question of definition - many people would claim that paneer _is_ cottage cheese, in that it's simply heated separated curds. The difference between it and what you may think of as cottage cheese is just that it's been strained and pressed to a denser consistency.
In excercise of my previliges as OP, I hereby define Paneer as follows :
Home made cheese, pressed to a sufficient density that it develops sufficient cohesiveness to be diced or even roughly grated and which can retain its shape even when grilled or deep fried

Anyone here who is fond of a good recipe that needs paneer and cares to share it?

(sorry OP, didn't want to start another thread)
Paneer Lababdar / Shahi Paneer / Nawabi Paneer
White sweet-spicy gravy with onions-garlic-cashewnuts and whole spices cooked in cream
Raw paneer cubes

That does explain why we can't buy it!

I think Serac is the closest to Paneer. Find Swiss Cottage Cheese to be quite different and Halloumi is not like paneer at all.
Serac, or Ziger as it is called in the German part, is made from whey.

The closets Swiss equivalent of Paneer would be Bloderchäs a.k.a Surchäs
http://www.alpen-sg.ch/sauerkaesebloderkaese.html

Unfortunately Bloderchäs is a regional specialty and not available anywhere.
