These are soup strainers!

The mullet was friend to no-one, not even MacGuyver.

Re: What does Swiss fashion look like?

Conservative, basic, safe, not experimental, borderline boring, probably 3-5 years behind latest trends.

So all in all like Switzerland in general

There are differences though. Zurich is a bit more trendy than other places. I dress differently in Basel than Zurich...

I think Brian may be a tad old for me. Tom and Javier however... yum.

Now Google Brett Dalton beard or Richard Armitage beard. You're welcome... ;p

Frog-lands might be a bit special. Or maybe it's just us. Stress not, wear whatever is calling your name.

Baslers: I've seen so many ankle boots with strings- most look somehow like military boots - in Basel. I've never spotted them in Zurich (no girls factory around?) and couldn't even spot them in shops here. Are they still in fashion?

#1son (37), is so boringly swiss that M&S is his favourite shop.... closely followed by C&A.
There's a style-type in England called Young Fogey which sums him up perfectly..... just as long as the clobber's black!

What's wrong with M&S?? Trousers always the perfect fit! Floral patterns and "interesting" combination of colours always reliable to keep you into a totally timeless "fashion", excellent choice of woolly scarves and the non-iron shirts are life saving!

Nowt wrong with M&S as such, just that it's all a bit frumpy. Especially the women's stuff..... don't think I've bought anything except cotton knickers there in donkeys years.

Son loves their corduroy trousers, woolly jumpers, and non-iron shirts too. He even bought a dark grey one recently to celebrate that it was summer.

The knickers in the Migros are just as good as M&S. and probably around the same price.

The Migros' big knickers are horrid.... M&S bks are one of my few indulgences as sadly I can no longer get away with the skimpy little things you can!

So, in other words, if I wear my kilt, I kind of blend in, considering that there is no Swiss fashion.

I'm not sure a man in a kilt would blend in anywhere to be honest, not even in Scotland.

Actually, I've never had that happen here. I've had a few stares, but you get them everywhere except Scotland itself.

The "nice skirt" and "have you got anything on underneath?" are more common in Canada and the US, but it is a while since I've worn mine in either of those places.

I do! But then, I explain the importance of clan colours and tartans and they no longer stare at a "skirt" but History!

My husband fitted in nicely in his kilt in Leeds a few weeks back. We were at a wedding and it coincided with Pride weekend.

KiIt wearing is all in the attitude apparently. And greeting the inevitable "proper Scotsman?" enquiry with a smile but no comment. Mr Rufus says it's important to keep 'em guessing.
