| | Life Cost in Baden Switzerland
Hi Good Morning everybody, I would like to have your point of view regarding this topic. Today I received an offer for a job in Baden where the annual gross salary is 101000 CHF that means 7769 CHF per months, so correct me if I-m wrong but this means a net of around 5800 CHF per months. What is your point of view regarding this salary it will be enough for having a good quality life in Switzerland? Would you thing such salary will be good for moving a family of 4 person from Italy to Switzerland?
Thank you everybody in advance for your comments!

Welcome to the Forum.
As glowjupter says, if you want info on cost of living, there's loads of info here. Prices don't change much so even older threads are still going to be relevant.
Please understand that your idea of a "good quality of life" may vary tremendously from others, so it's almost like asking "how long is a piece of string".
Here are some threads that I think cover the topic nicely, including links and examples of actual expenses. The first one is a bit old, but quite comprehensive and worth a look. The second is more recent: Cost of living - help needed to get it right Cost of living in Switzerland-with examples
Some of the more than 100 threads that talk about cost of living might be relevant to you and others not, but do have a read through the more recent ones. There's a LOT of good advice in there, you just have to do a little of the work yourself:
Hopefully you can compare your own current costs and lifestyle using some of this info, and determine whether the move is for you and your family. | This user would like to thank 3Wishes for this useful post: | |

Thank you everybody in advance for your comments! | | | | | That salary is roughly like earning €2200-2500/month net in Italy, in terms of quality of life. CHF100k in Baden = around €45k in Italy.
For example for a family of four: Rent CHF2500, Health Insurance CHF1000 (rough), Groceries CHF1200 (rough).
Leaving (drum roll): around CHF1100/month to cover everything else, from transport, clothing, utilities, etc., .

Housing might have gotten a bit more expensive since then. 20%-ish maybe?
(Assuming a 2% increase in housing costs over eight years yields a 17% increase).
Recently that has plateaued, according to various sources - but so have salaries...

Median gross household incomeis 6.8k or so in Switzerland. Median gross salary is 6.1k gross. So your salary would be 25% more than median.
Now take an Italian median salary, add 25% to it, and that would be your life here more-or-less.
Remember in CH, contrary to IT, you will pay about 1k of health insurance for your family yourselves (it is not part of gross to net salary deductions).

Thank you everybody in advance for your comments! | | | | | CHF 101K pa is CHF 8,417 per month, assuming 12 equal instalments.
Comparis indicates tax of about CHF 9K. Chuck in child benefit, pension, ALV, etc. deductions and that should give a net in excess of CHF 7K per month. Assuming the kids are young health insurance should be possible for about CHF 800 leaving over CHF 6K for everything else. You're not going to be rich on that but perfectly comfortable for a family of 4.

Thank you everybody in advance for your comments! | | | | | You will really need to find somewhere to live where the rent is going to be reasonable. This will be your single biggest monthly expense.
