Just to be contrary and ignore the question, I often wear this.. but am still waiting for a Swiss watch snob to have a, misguided, pot shot

Anyone that has a pot shot at a grand Seiko doesn know very much about watches!

Re: What (Swiss) watch do you wear?

This is a roughly 70 year old Swiss watch, manufactured in Grenchen. The manufacturer SUTER has long ceased to exist, the watch belonged to my beloved and much missed grandpa and is my heirloom.

Collector's value about 1000.- according to the watchmaker who got her going again, to me that watch is priceless!

I wear Tissot T17.1.586.32
In fact, I am very satisfied with those watches. I chose them for a long time.
Even after a while, despite the fact that newer and more interesting models came out, I still like these ones.

Tag Heuer Aquaracer Automatic here. Paid for in 2006 by a chunk of my last decent UK banking bonus

Re: What (Swiss) watch do you wear?

watches in this household are all linked to family and friends- and local firms, some now gone. My favourite ever was the one my dad made for me, unique, from bits and pieces from his Favre Leuba worshop. I would recognise it anywhere in the world. It was stolen from our house by someone pretending to come to buy a second-hand car - in the mid 70s. He had no idea what sentimental value was in that watch ...

The other is a unique Chronometer, unbranded- a watchmaking school piece. fortunately restored a couple of years ago. But my OH's favourite watch is British, even though the design was done at Wostep Neuchâtel in 1970- Peter Roberts Grand Complication 5.

Re: What (Swiss) watch do you wear?

Made me think, should write to the local newspaper in the town where we lived then, in UK - and ask for people to look out for the watch. I'd truly love to be reunited with it- my dad died in 2009, aged 96. Made it for my 18th BD, 1968.

Re: What (Swiss) watch do you wear?

I used to wear mostly a CERTINA DS Action Diver. Just a great watch (Swiss Watch with Sapphire Crystal Glass)!

Recently I bought my first Wood Watch from ZEITSTAMM. Also with Swiss Movement and Sapphire Glass. Love it!
