"swiss" optional. | | | | | And in that spirit, I'm going to say "Pebble". Then I can display any Swiss (or other) watch I feel like.

I have several watches but never wear them. Just don't like the feel of wearing one.

Tom | | | | | It works here too.
I have a cheap watch for everyday but I sometimes wear my dad's watch which my mum bought for him when they got married in 1958. He rarely wore it but always seemed to know the time somehow.
It's a Swiss watch made by a company in Bienne not far from here and is really very small for a man's watch. It still keeps very good time as long as I don't forget to wind it up.

This is where I realise that I'm really not a high maintenance girl.
When in Zürich: Tissot Touch watch (I have a Victorinox and a very simple Rado but never wear them)
When in the mountains: Suunto Traverse
I also have a Rado man's watch for big occasions, but mostly it's decorating the safe.
Husband is the one with the nice stuff.
I like watches, but I like buying hiking and skiing gear more. |

LCD watches appeared in the early '70s, when Adams was writing HG2G, so yes they weren't just futuristic but rather cutting edge.
Interestingly it was a Swiss firm (BBC) which supplied the LCD displays for the early Casio digital watches: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_watch#Digital | The following 2 users would like to thank JagWaugh for this useful post: | |
