Ricardo probably have more impact, Anibis is free

Assuming it is your tablet? Check what other similar tablets are listed for.
What did your aunt say??

50% is hard specially for a brand new item probably used not more than 2 hours ( it's a tablet ).
Also, should I place it for auction? What about payment methods and delivery options? Do most people prefer to pay by bank/cash or have it delivered by post or in person? To make it favorable for the buyer I mentioned delivery charge is to be free and immediate. Other than that I don't know how to improve my chances of selling it asap. I'm also thinking about making the ad premium (paid)

| | | | | Simple, it is no longer new so people expect that price decrease (and yes, we know it is a tablet from the lengthy earlier thread )

I would add a few more comments.
Often Ricardo and Anibis bring out the REAL bargin hunters (or some may say bottom feeders). If you address that market, as others have said, you need to price accordingly. An electronic/electrical item without a valid guarantee is worth about 20-25% of what you paid (if you are in a hurry). This percentage goes up with a guarantee. Possibly a bit more for recent iPhones for example. You might get 40-45% if in perfect condition.
Sales sites such as Facebook groups (there are several) are less price sensitive. Have a look.
Check the current price on www.toppreisse.ch. That is the full price that you should use for your "discount". Forget what you paid at a full service/full price store like FUST etc. No one cares.
As mentioned, give ALL the details and lots of photos. It is truly amazing the number of ads I see (for all categories) where people do not put even the basic information (dimensions, when purchased, guarantee or not, proper model number, specs for electronics etc.).

I am used to selling on eBay but is seems CH eBay is non existent and therefore have started to use Ricardo. i would be grateful if someone can clarify three things:-
1. How do I set a reserve amount (min amount) where it is not visible to to anyone?
2. How do I search for products that has been sold already to research how much those items sold for so that I can set the reserve price accordingly.
3. I have included my IBAN in the payment section but when I list the item it defaults to cash. Could it be that I have listed the items as a "pick-up" or could it be that I need to enrol on their credit card options for taking payments?

For electronics in Ricardo you can start from 1 CHF. They are always sold at a decent price and are the ones getting more attention.

No can do, a bid is a legally binding offer. It is not like a normal auction where the reserve will normally only be mentioned if it is in danger of not being met. Electronic items with high demand often start at 1fr. Less sort after items often go for 1Fr. You see a lot of auctions with reserves set so high that no bids are received.
2. How do I search for products that has been sold already to research how much those items sold for so that I can set the reserve price accordingly.
AFAIK you can only search for what is on offer at the moment

Enrollment is necessary and takes a few days to clear

I think you can't do that anymore. There is only the start price and the "sofort kaufen" price.

It seems so very Swiss to list your old tat with a start price that is already 2x what it's worth

Plenty of stuff on Ricardo is overpriced and hence not selling.
There are items that I have been following where the same seller keeps on posting them, every time at a slightly lower (but still too high) starting price, but still no takers.

I've started using Facebook marketplace pretty exclusively.. I buy and sell quite a lot on there..
However.. Whilst I get a lot of success, I also get a huge amount of junk, time wasters, strange looking people.. etc. I'm very selective on who I even reply to.
Fake Name : No reply
Smart ass photo : No reply
Stupid question : No reply
Can't write two words in FR/EN : No reply
Stupid offer : No reply
When I sell something, it's priced correctly, usually I'm almost giving it away, sometimes I really am. I provide a good description, good photos, location of the item and that you can come get it. And usually advertise in EN/FR for the market here.
Then I get 20 messages, "is it still available", after deleting ten based on above, I may reply to ten - Yes available .. Five I never hear from again, three ask for a 50% reduction (deleted), one wants me to deliver it to Basel (deleted) .. And the last one buys it.
It's a big audience - you can be selective.

I have been using tutti.ch for my last couple of sales. Lesser number of stupid questions because of the smaller audience in comparison to Facebook. I price my items a bit lesser than the lowest priced similar product I find. I end up selling at my original asking price each time. Not the best business idea, but better than having to chuck the perfectly functional item into recycling.
I have stopped using Ricardo because of the fee they charge. It doesn't make fiscal sense in my opinion to use it, when there exist free services such as tutti.ch.
