Re: Digitec not like it was

Afaik Steg was BOUGHT by PCP a few years back. To be completely honest I do not understand how this works:
- there's STEG, pretty good company in my eyes, have bought several things from them over the years, though the prices are not the best
- then there's pc-ostschweiz, same owner, a bit better prices
- then there's pcp.ch, same owner, even better prices!

Why?! And why would I want to buy from Steg instead of pcp.ch directly to get the lowest price?

Re: Digitec not like it was

Hi,

with electronics and especially cameras, headphones, computers you are not going to buy unless you can try the goods first. The problem is that people use mediamarkt etc as a showroom to try out the goods and then go online and buy it if they find it cheaper. Sooner or later we will be in the situation where we will no longer have certain types on shops on the high street and that is not good.

I am certainly happy to pay a bit extra for know how and expertise.

Have fun
Martin

It's an ok and legit shop. Customer-friendly AGBs - e.g. 14 days returns.

Also, Nvidia is about to release 1080 Ti soon, so if you wait a bit, price should fall even further and you can have a bargain; or you'd be able to buy a better card, at non-bargain prices of course.
Ti wont be out until end of Feb

Wanted to buy this Lamp-Philips LivingColors Bloom. At Digitec it was 122 CHF. And I found it on Brack for 68 CHF. Crazy. Since it was taken over by Migros this company has gone down and down.Greedy Migros. I ended up getting it from a seller on Ricardo for 59 CHF. New and with garantee etc etc!
Sometimes down to the manufacturers and where they want to push the goods. Also a lot of protection for retailers by CE brands for some reason

That's soon enough

Do you want to overpay now for a top card that'll be obsolete in 2 months?

I don't think I have ever needed to try out a computer before I bought it... same goes for in ear head-phones and most electronics. I guess I am not alone which is why digitec got big...

I just did, the Asus 8G is on its way

The 1080 will be hardly "obsolete", there's always gonna be a better card coming out "in the next months", plus I didn't overpay (there's a sale for 680chf instead of the regular 750) plus the TI will probably be like 900 so...

Couldn't agree more. Before Migros had it's greedy fingers in there they had very often (about 9 out of 10 times IME) the best prices in Switzerland. Not anymore.
I am currently looking for a 55 inch LG OLED TV, which Digitec sells for CHF 2799 ("statt vorher 3199"), while listed on toppreise.ch for between CHF 2060 and CHF 2799...!

Re: Digitec not like it was

We are using Digitic with our company and the customer service is really bad.
We tried to order an Ipad Pro 4G and it took about 10 calls to get a decent quote (as we are also a Swisscom client, it needs to go via a special department at Digitec)

Does anybody know how long do they keep orders "Ready for pickup" (not paid in advance)? I received a email reminder that I need to come "in the next days", but it doesn't specify how many...

Re: Digitec not like it was

I recently ordered small but expensive (1300+) article from Digitec. It came with damaged packaging and package was clearly already opened and then closed again with the second layer of sticky tape. I was not happy as Digitec requires undamaged original packaging if article needs to be returned. I also was not happy that product was probably already used (otherwise why to open it ?)

I did not open box and I wrote to support explaining all of these and they reacted correctly – sent me free shipping label and asked to return product. After receiving it at their warehouse, they send me a new one.

The new box came in better condition with no damage but I can see that the original factory package was definitely already opened as there is second layer of sticky tape applied.

I wrote again to Digitec support but this time they just do not reply.

Do you think I should accept product in this conditions ? Why they have to open original factory packaging before sending product to me, I don't understand it !

Thank you
Rustem

Perhaps because they replaced the European plug with a Swiss one?

Never thought about this, but you may be right! I wish Digitec gives at least this answer instead of just ignoring me.
