Returning Electronics ( Refund ? )

Hi everyone,

I bought a camera lens two days ago from an M-electronics store. I purchased the wrong item and would like to return it for a refund, but I'm not sure if this type of item can be returned?

I checked the receipt, but I didn't see that it said anywhere that I have 'X' amount of days to return it. Nor did I see what type of refund you would receive ( full refund, credit, exchange).

I also have a 2-year guarantee, but from my understanding this is in case there is a defect or damage.

I went online, and their website said that online returns can be made within 30 days for a refund.

The people at the store I purchased the item from are always nice, but the lines are horribly long, and I'd hate to go there and wait in line only to be told that they can't do a return.

Has anyone returned expensive items such as photography equipment, laptops, or televisions? How did it go ?

I found two similar posts here, but not quite the answer I was looking for

Go into the shop & go to the customer service area. Migros are very good for returns in my experience.

Thanks Neddy. I guess I'll just have to own my mistake, and face the crowds again. I'll post again, and let you all know if I'm able to return it.

Re: Returning Electronics ( Refund ? )

In general in Switzerland there is nor refund period. Period. Neither for stuff bought on-line nor on-site. If there is any return period than just because the store is nice.

To answer your question. Could not find anything about pure in store purchases at m-electronics.

The best I found is this non conclusive statement: https://faq.migros.ch/de/detail/ich-...n-ich-es-umtau
Bring it and we will see what we can do.

Re: Returning Electronics ( Refund ? )

Yeah, I couldn't believe that they didn't have a refund policy on the receipt or the guarantee. Which is why I wanted to post here. We'll see what happens. I'll probably try and return it tomorrow.

*edit* The link you posted for Migros does say ' The goods can be assessed on site and, if necessary, exchanged.' . That would be good too, but I don't think they had the lens I wanted in stock . Arg .

Re: Returning Electronics ( Refund ? )

Hello again everyone,

I successfully returned the camera lens

We went to M-electronics yesterday, and we were lucky that the store wasn't too busy. We were promptly greeted by a store worker who gladly helped with the return ( they're always SO friendly there ! ).

He asked which store we purchased the lens from, and asked for the receipt & guarantee. I think he was going to give us a refund, but we asked if we could exchange the lens for another one as we had bought it by mistake. He said that we could, but the lens we wanted was not in-stock. He then offered to order it for us and have it delivered to our house ( for free ! ) .

After he ordered the new lens, we payed for it ( the other one was a little cheaper ), signed a return form, and that was it .

M-electronics really is such a great store with great customer service .
