Disposal of a box of rocks. We have a box of fist sized rocks picked from the garden. I know that the regular rubbish is a non runner. Oekihof doesn't seem to make sense as it's not really recycling. I could just fling them into a field but... What to do? Happy new year one and all. H. |

Re: Disposal of a box of rocks. If the stones are even half way decent (e.g. useful for filling a gabione), post an ad on ricardo/tutti/anibis to advertise them as a free give away. Stones have a value, commercial prices are around 30-50 Fr/t |
Re: Disposal of a box of rocks. Our dechetterie has a place for such 'waste'. It is a rural one though. |

Re: Disposal of a box of rocks. If they are clean rock, would it be okay to lob them in to the lake? Do you know what type of rock it is? |

http://www.real-luzern.ch/bauschutt.html Before going to the trouble of hauling the lot down, take one to the Oekihof and ask. Alternatively, do you have a stone drain around your house? When we find garden rocks, we take up the top layer of decorative stone, distribute the ugly rocks wherever extra stone is needed, replace the decorative stone on top. Or, are you into raised bed gardening? Use the stone as filler/drain in a bed. |

Our Commune re-distributes compost for free twice a year- and I for one would rather not collect large rocks in it I would then have to dispose off. Thanks. |
