Re: Healthy lunch options in and around Zurich...

I would also recommend Gärtnerei. The new Poke place at Stockerstrasse looks amazing.
I would not recommend Dean & David. The concept is good, but their Curries are bland and I got a rash from eating salad there.

Thanks! Their website seems down, but the reviews look really promising. I hope it's not as crap as the poke at Yoojis.

Zurich has bunch of great Asian - my favorite Thai, Vietnamese - places that offer healthy food and sushi shops. You can find one almost around every corner and they usually offer affordable lunch specials. Also little indian/pakistani places or middle eastern usually have healthy dishes. Or places like gartnerei or elle'n'belle. I feel like there are tons of options really. Even migros or coop have good salads and other healthy foods, f.ex check out coops karma food line!

Ah also, I forgot: there is an Italian take away place by schmiede called Tremonte. They make everything themself. You can have them put your meal together however you like, they always have bunch of veggies, salads in the summer you can combine with pasta or meat and they make their own piadine, (Italian sandwich in flat bread like a tortilla) which homemade dough that is grilled in front of you!

Bratwurst and pommes-frites.

But really, who eats lunch?

The only times that I eat lunch or breakfast is on business trips and I have to.

Re: Healthy lunch options in and around Zurich...

Spent all my life dieting so definitely understand your wish to eat properly.
"Dean and David" - great salads and wraps and whole wheat sandwiches,
"Not Guilty" a liitle bit not in the center but they serve really nice salads and small snacks, lots of things for vegetarian people. Was one more healthy place but I forgot the name, maybe will post later. Hope it'll help.

People of normal weight who then don't need to resort to doughnuts and chocolate bars to keep going in the afternoon.

Hiltl, Not guilty, Tibits, Roots are some of the places but to be honest you can probably also get good salads from any coop or migros, im glad they improve their choice
