Air purifier

Hi,

i just need a opinion about to choose the right air purifier.
I am trying to buy the best air purifier to escape from micro/textile dust which is really bothering our daily life. But confused with too many choices available in the market. Can anyone share your experience/recommendation to buy the effective one.

Note: i have bought one named "ionizer" from Conrad (70 CHF). But is is useless...

Thanks

Re: Air purifier

IŽd go for a Xiaomi Mi 2 or something similar. Quite good value for money ratio. for They are pretty popular in China, where you actually need an air purifier. If you manage to source one here you want to get a steady supply of filters as well. I think they last for 4-6 months each.

EDIT: Blueair is at the high-end of the price range. But they seem to be available in Switzerland. HEPA filters and rather silent.

AFAIK an ionizer works without filter mats - which means the air doesnŽt get, well, filtered.

Re: Air purifier

I have used a product from 3M which requires filters. We needed something effective for cockatoo dust. The machines we're almost chf 400 each BUT they worked.

Re: Air purifier

The small ionizers won't do much more than remove smells. A larger one with an activated charcoal filter will do a half decent job of neutralizing smells and get rid of some particles, but if you have a real dust problem then what you need is a fan pulling air through a filter at a high enough rate that it acutally processes the majority of the volume in a decent period of time.
