Re: advise needed: shall I report the case to police or not

Pixie, I'll add my voice to the EFers suggesting you ask someone official about this: community police etc. Is it term time? If he's school age he may be a known truant too so likely to be on their radar.

As you said, if he made you uncomfortable as an adult woman, it's possible he would scare teenagers/kids. And let's not forget, plenty of 14 year old boys are practically man sized.

I hope it doesn't happen again to anyone.

He's got a lift date? Why? He should be banned eternally, especially after updating his profile.

Thank you, yes, I wouldn't say he was man sized but he was certainly bigger than me.

Etefan, if you are still reading, I explain to you again: I want to help the boy. I am not "playing victim". Even though he was bigger than me, and he grabbed me after I was polite to him. I still want to help him as well as help the community. I hope that's clear for you.

my tuppence worth,

ask advice from your kids teachers, they must have training in handling inappropriate child behaviour in an age-sensitive manner.

that'll be tuppence please.

It would probably be to go to the school counsellor or SENCO (special educational needs coordinator) equivalent but you'd need to know name and school etc. That's why an overarching body would make more sense.

Otherwise, if you ask me, Pixie acted exactly right, particularly in going to find another adult witness to the boy's odd behaviour. He laid hands on her. Unacceptable.

He either knows what he's doing is questionable in which case he needs a talking to, or he doesn't know it's unacceptable and needs a different kind of talking to and some additional support. He may think it's a game, but he's clearly not respecting boundaries and that is alarm-bell behaviour. If he were obviously a young adult and not a kid, then this would surely be a different discussion. You don't grab at someone and make suggestive comments like that, end of.

Re: advise needed: shall I report the case to police or not

So the creepy kid is still at it!! Walking back from the train today and he was walking just behind me....had my headphones on but realized he was trying to say something so took them off.....he started speaking in German but switched to English when he realized I didn't understand him......and he just says 'would you like to play a game' and I said 'No' the he said 'For a kiss' and again I said no again and started to walk off......he then turned around and walked back the other way so he'd been following me!! Creepy little begged!! Seemed harmless but still not what you want when your walking home from work!!

Not sure where Pixie B ran into him, but the OP clearly said it was in Lachen in their post.

Okay, he's been at it (at least) for 3 months now then. Somebody should see to it, that this kid gets a life then.

Oh, it works alright. I surmise that such things are mostly about exercising power over someone else. And he succeeded in rattling you (I'd have been upset, too), so therefore yes, for him, it worked. Sad, very sad.

Re: advise needed: shall I report the case to police or not

Sounds like he needs reporting to the police. If it's not their area to deal with, i.e. mental health issues, then maybe they can call in other experts to sort him out. If he's just being a prat then a stern talking to by the police ought to make him see sense.

I wonder what the OP did in the end. It seems like a big issue for her back then.

OP, are you still visiting this site? Did you do anything?

* Could be, but if he was just a prat he would have got bored eventually. Jumped onto the next "game".
