Preparing for Bike test. Category A

Hey beautiful people.

So I have finally booked my motorbike test for June after doing the mandatory 12 hour ground course last year. As I don't own a bike, I need to hire one and wandered if anyone knows a place that can do rentals for around 4 weeks?? Obviously not keen on paying that standard 250 a day or i'll be broke and would need to start selling organs for food.

Any help is appreciated.

Greg

Re: Preparing for Bike test. Category A

The rental places seem to rent out newer bikes, at 150/day+. Or vintage bikes, for even more.

Even if you worked a deal for 100/day, you'd be out 2800.- And I think you pay much more for insurance (you'd likely want vollkasko for a rental bike) than through a regular insurer on a yearly policy.

You could buy a very nice used bike for under 5000 and end up spending much less overall, even if you sell it on again at a bargain price in the future.

But if you do find an affordable rental, please post the details here. Thanks.

there's this 2016 Yamaha, maybe the cheapest i've seen (i'm looking for a rental for a visitor later this summer), at 650.-/week:
