1. Definitely Australia, no contest

4. Most Australian women are overweight... whereas you'll struggle to find any overweight Swiss women.

Do you have any idea how you seem like?
Horny and desperate. Spring is over and the poor guy hasn't scored. We have to live with the ramifications of that for the rest of the year but us EF'lers are a patient bunch, no?

Maybe help him (give him a hand? ROFLMAO) next spring as suggested on an other thread (fill in the forms, make the phone-calls .....)

Sorry, greenmount. I'm in one of those moods

What? Fill in the forms, make those phone calls? He wants to emigrate to find those whooties ? I welcome this thought but...giving him a hand, no way. I am sure a local help is more competent.

(sorry, like everything on EF that mood is contagious )

Unfortunately taxes are higher in Germany.

This is a fact, cause Germany is a huge country so they need money to maintain infrastructure and welfare.

CH is very small so they don't need that much taxpayer's money.

But it's OK Germany is still better

Even I wanted to start a company i would still start in Germany
If you count parking fees as taxes, switzerland has actually much higher taxes than germany.

Okay, now that I've contributed to the relative stupidity. A couple more on topic points, while I have them on my mind of why *we* ended up choosing CH to AU.

Snipped.
Can I just say ditto. Thanks for a thoughtful post that pretty sums things up in my opinion.

This Perth native (and newby Swiss citizen), is enjoying a sunny 22C winters day but looks very much forward to our permanent return to Switzerland in the next few years.

Moved back to Australia 2010, naturalised (facilitated) 2016 via Sydney consulate. We always had (and still have) open plans to return to Switzerland at some point.

Re: Australia or Switzerland a better place to live?

My husband and I grew up in Malaysia. We moved to Australia some 30+ years ago and have been in Switzerland for almost 5 years. We are moving back to Melbourne for medical reasons but would have been happy to live here for a few more years.

Both countries have their good and bad. My take on a few good things - Australia has its wild inland beauty, diverse ethnicity and culture, its friendly people and the beautiful beaches. Switzerland has order, tradespeople who turn up at the promised time, all Swiss strives to do what's proper. At the same time, there are negatives in both countries. It all boils down to what you make of it. Both are great countries. A hard one.....

If we do that, Australia is clearly the winner. Coupled with higher tax rate than Switzerland and poorer return on public health care cover in terms of the substantial out-of-pocket amount per doctor's visit, don't get me started...

So true. In fact, Australia has one of the highest obesity rate in the world.

Re: Australia or Switzerland a better place to live?

I lived in Australia for 13 years and I still weigh 50kg.

I voted for Australia because I miss it like crazy right now, having been in Switzerland for only 3.5 months.

Re: Australia or Switzerland a better place to live?

Australian girls age faster because of the amount of time their skin spends in the sun. Compared to East Asians Swiss women still age faster. XD But if an Australian girl is not overweight, I think she's almost always very good looking and sexy. I don't think all Swiss women are slim. A lot are, but some aren't. And overall they aren't as pretty as Aussie girls. Aussie girls are also often very outgoing, bubbly and cheery. Typical Australians have a very likeable personality type.

Outgoing, bubbly and cheery...that's what teachers put on school reports for someone who's dumb.
