Old fogies on this forum.

This forum seems to lately be full of old fogies, busy-bodies and bores telling people how to live their lives.

It's getting like an on-line version of a sitting rooms in one of those retirement home where the armchairs all have a faint smell of urine and tea (I can only imagine).

Please stop it now and get back to your Suduko or TV watching.

Thanks!

True old fogies remember the days of no speed limits, no obligatory health insurance, no drinking age, etc.

Just saying.

Let the poor young fellow complain if it makes him feel better. He has a lot still to learn. He cannot even spell Sudoku (数独) yet.

Wow, how old are you? In order for most of those to apply (apart from health insurance in the us) you must be pushing close to 100

LOL- not sure how old you are- but I do seem to remember posts made about people having too many cats, people who smoke, noise from Youth Hostel, and quite a few more telling people how to live their lives

Re: Old fogies on this forum.

Pop along to the hearing aid shop luv. The nice young fellow in there is so sweet and helped me to choose the right ones. And if you ever break bits off, the young lady at the counter will put them back together again. I got mine readjusted so that now I can hear what people are saying about me behind my back.

no complete strangers bashing us for smoking ..... those were the days when we could even smoke dope. Now it's not even possible to smoke an e-cigarette on the bus-stop.

Aaaaaw, good ol' days.
And the craziest amongst us still enjoy making our own decisions and vote accordingly.

@Tom1234

There is a truism in this world, and especially on EF, that if you ask a stupid question you might just get a stupid answer.

If you don't like the answer, then maybe you shouldn't have asked the question. Is there any thread that especially offended you?

Hmmm, if you were a forum veteran by July 2011: Yes. Either that or a chatterbox

Any thread that has to do with fun, relaxed attitudes and tolerance, I suspect.

But Sbrinz, that truism you mention ... long corrupted, you can get stupid answers to any type of question now. And didn't the school-psychologist decide at one point, that there are no stupid questions?

OP has a point though. Only, it's mostly the young ones with the clear advice what to do and what not (latter list is endless) and THAT is kind of scary.

I wouldn't really mind going back to watching tv (I'm crap at Sudoku) but every time my shutter goes down my tv turns off as well. Some youngster messed up the installation of my home automation
