I'm doing it deliberately... can't you tell???!

If you suggest another day that suits you better then Patsy snd I are usually up for an excuse to pop out for a drink.
Mais nonnnnnn....I can't make it again, damn. Were you serious or is the heat gettin' to ya

Anyways, I can't wait to be able to attend.

OP - Salad - Manor resto is breezy, usually. Or basement food section, coolers. If nothing works, Bains de Paquis is pleasant.

Thought that was for residents only.

Next one will probably be early September, no idea exactly when yet though.
Friday evening just seems a reasonable choice as it's normally the end of the week for the poor s*ds who have to toil.
Open to suggestions, or for someone else organising something!

I have a fan as close to me as possible, on 24 hours a day. I keep my shutters down most of the day.

I did notice that wall of heat when I popped outside today. It was quite pleasant when i came home.

Also, i live on the seventh floor, so have any breeze that comes. I often go and sit on a terrace on the rue Dancet (shady side) where there is, most days, a bit of wind. Warm but pleasant. And a great place to "people watch"!!

Wear loose fitting cloths, which for me at the moment is everything!!

Otherwise, drink lots of cool drinks, have cool showers and emerge yourself in a cool bath!!

I am dreading the cold weather. But this heat is just a bit OTT!
Yes, I'm doing all of that, though it has only been since midnight that we've had the least breeze today - fifth floor.

This heat won't last... in a few weeks time everyman and his wife will be whinging that it's too cold!
I never mind the cold - it seems to me you can always get warmer if necessary, but cooler is so much harder to arrange.

Phew..thought you, guys, were meeting today. We should meet on the beach! Beg of Sept is great, anywhere, really. Equinox isn't bad at all, cozy. Breezy? We might be missing the tropical temps by then

Yours sincerely,

A few beaches on the left Bank (Mermaid beach, Savonnière, Hermance) with lots of shaded areas (mature trees) that make it bearable.

Churches? They have to be useful if they're going to be empty most of the time!

Re: anywhere to go in Geneva with proper aircon?

Go to a Sauna. It will feel quite cool outside after that.

(actually and seriously, visiting a sauna does improve your body's ability to handle heat outside of the sauna)

We are meeting today (Friday), just last minute thing to catch-up and try to cool off a little.
Next 'official' meeting will be September but no fixed date yet.

Re: anywhere to go in Geneva with proper aircon?

For a big meet up, early September suits me.

Depending on the weather, I may try and organise a picnic in the Parc again at the end of September. During the day. My nephew and wife and two babies are visiting for a few days. Around the 24th (my birthday). We can let the little one tire herself out whilst her brother can sit like a little Budhha!!! And charm everyone!!

Tonight is just impromtu. Let Anjela see me for the last time before my hair falls out again!!
