Re: The EF Dream Chronicle

I don't remember the details but I had a very unpleasant dream last night (not a nightmare).
I kind of woke up and said (no idea to whom, LOL) "I don't want to dream about this, please change it" ..... fell into a now peaceful sleep again.
That was pretty groovy. Not done that before.

I have done so, but usually when I have I realize it was a dream and it ends.

I had such a nightmare last night . I woke up in a cold sweat and I was trembling like crazy. I dreamt that all my red blobs on EF had turned into blood and I saw the blood pouring out of the PC. Thank goodness it was only a dream!

So, do you dream a lot? Do you remember your dreams? Do you think about it afterwards?

Let's see if dreams of people here resemble in any ways. I have to say I don't see a lot of Swissness (food, habits, places) in my dreams. Nature, yes. Mountains and the lake.

My last dream was about some group organisation, a trip and some emergencies, hiking somewhere.

I never get hungry nor thirsty in my dreams, rarely hear music unless I play or sing. But distinctly remember smells, emotions...colors. Do you laugh or cry in dreams? Feel hurt?

What language do you dream in? Can you control what is happening?

Do your dreams set the mood next day?

Doesn't happen before you have six of them. It was a clairvoyant dream.

In a compartment of one of those old corridor type trains, there were eight very large spiders, each in their own seat, singing "If you can't see us, we're not here".

Re: The EF Dream Chronicle

Does anyone have weird dreams when sick? I had a bug a little while ago and the dreams were pretty intense. Stress, intensity, restless, flying around, I also seemed to be split in a few parts - like aware only of a part of body, the rest as if it was controlled by a different me. Different department. It was vivid and I felt conscious.

I look forward to dreaming, but when sick I only look forward to recovery, really heavy unconscious sleep...waking up healthy.

I like picking up dreams and moods according to places, too, when at pops home I tend to relive a little bit the atmosphere, the hopes and desires one had all those years ago..travel in one's own life journey, answer some old questions, maybe. Life is good, maybe also because we do a lot of prep work in our sleep and day dreaming, when minds are wandering.

Every time I get sick, since I was a little kid, I have the same dream on loop. It's a big "blob" with a deep voice that stomps around really heavily, with a little blob next to him with a very squeaky voice, skipping with a rope. The contrast between the two always makes me wake up feeling sick and with cold sweats. It's not even scary, just horrible in a creepy way.

In recent months, I've been going through some extreme stress and anxiety and my dreams have centred around falling from a great height, getting stuck in the ocean with sharks and monsters tying to eat me and having to try and save my kids from all sorts of dangers. I never seem to win and wake up in a complete panic as it seems so real. Other dreams have been real life situations that I continue in my sleep and then wake not knowing what is real or fantasy. This can lead to some interesting conversations with friends, family and work. Maybe I am losing my mind!!

Anyone with high and long term stress exposure is losing their mind in a way, a little bit, and it depends how one copes with it, if one reduces the cortisol to some manageable levels. Dreams often warn us, I think, when the stress is reaching the toxic levels. I think unless one bootcamps some new routine in, it will not fix itself. No coffee, no black-green tea, no booze, ton of water, fresh food, start something really physical (running, strength training, etc.), lots of sleep...and see if the stress drops and sleep gets restorative again. Parenting often triggers higher level of anxiousness, especially to those who can easily stress or question their own coping skills (which has nothing to do with their actual real coping skills, they may cope well but worry about it). Then chicks have it harder with hormones, too, having a kid can put one's chemical balance out of window for a while.

Sleep is yours, try to protect it...a routine and a ritual that powers us. If that part works, then anything that one does during the day has automatically a chance to be better quality.

I think I will try to dream about a road trip tonight, good scenery, nice breaks on the way, awesome music. Just listened to Fink's "Wheels", it is a good tune have on the back of my mind as it wonders away tonight. I will put a color to it, too, I started liking green lately. Lot of greenery.

Re: The EF Dream Chronicle

I started dreaming about apartments/houses again.
The night before, my family moved in on me in my own home, seriously pushing my comfort zone - pushing me out actually. Melania Trump was my stepmother! I know absolutely nothing about that woman, maybe I should study her characteristics to find out what the dream tried to tell me?!

Last night was about aparment/home again. Don't remember details but it was more pleasant than the first one.

Aparments/houses are about me, I know that by now. I'm usually all for challenging my comfort zone - but I rather to do it myself than being pushed.

If the dreams are anticipative (and ongoing) I sure wonder what I'm heading for

Re: The EF Dream Chronicle

As everybody talks about dreams - in all kinds of threads - I remembered I had a dream last week, "telling me" (it wasn't a person telling me) to imagine myself in situations I don't know, for example in a submarine.

I'm actually gonna try that out, no idea where the submarine-suggestion came from either.
No I did not listen to the Beatles lately.

That's neat...looks like you want adventure.

I cooked and painted in my last dreams...was somewhere warm, on the beach a lot, in Europe. Sunny dreams.

Pre-concert dreams in Swiss-German (which I don't speak!): apparently I shouted "Du liebi Zyt i bliebe stoh" or similar while asleep, to the great displeasure of OH!

It did make sense, though, as it's in one of the yodels I had to learn.
