Flat Bed Sheets?

Anyone know where I can find flat bed sheets? Rather than fitted sheets? Preferably online as I live in the middle of nowhere. Thanks

Re: Flat Bed Sheets?

This place seems to have a couple.

I bought some at Manor ages ago. Bet they don't stock them any more. The last ones I got I bought the material per meter and hemmed it myself.

Yes, thanks. http://m.laredoute.ch/de/psrch/psrch...earchContainer

If you search for simple "Leintuch" you will find the flat sheets.

Most of the stock are "Fixleintuch" which are the fitted sheets.

Re: Flat Bed Sheets?

We have bought from "Kings of Cotton" in the UK.

As long as you like white you will find many different sizes and quality or rather thread count. Delivery to Switzerland was no problem but we did get a import bill from the delivery company.

Re: Flat Bed Sheets?

what's the point of the flat ones? i find them pretty annoying to use vs the ones with elasticated corners that hold in place.

Re: Flat Bed Sheets?

I use fixed sheets underneath but flat ones on top. Like Greatgranny used to. I like something over me but anything else is too warm in this weather. A single beautiful cotton sheet is great. (and please do not bother with the comments I can hear you lot thinking out!)

I got some in Manor here recently.
Like Longbyt I like just a sheet on top in warm weather.

Exactly. We use fitted sheets on the mattress, but it is too hot for a duvet at the moment, and i just want to sleep with a sheet..... currently using a fitted one and it looks a bit ridiculous!

Thanks for the tips guys!

I just use the duvet cover without the duvet in it. Haven't used a "proper" sheet in decades.

Re: Flat Bed Sheets?

I've done that in an hotel but that is still double the thickness and quite honestly the thought of washing twice the quantity of material grieves me to death. For a similar reason, the grandchildren have smaller sheets when they visit us in high summer. We have plenty of other washing, like biking gear!

If you search for simple "Leintuch" you will find the flat sheets.

Most of the stock are "Fixleintuch" which are the fitted sheets.
"Oberleintuch" is a top flat sheet.

In Germany "Leintuch" and "Fixleintuch" are known as "Bettlaken" and "Spannbettlaken" respectively

The "Oberleintuch" either as "Ober-Bettlaken" or short "Oberlaken".

The "Unterleintuch" is a non fitted sheet intened to cover the matress. In Germany it is just "Bettlaken".

"Interlaken" is the town between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz.

Re: Flat Bed Sheets?

In Coop City and Manor I've found them as "drap"rather than "draphousse". But sometimes need to really look through the packages well to find it.

Re: Flat Bed Sheets?

Ah, they're hard to find. For the past few years, I've just been going to either Lyon or Paris during the sales to the Galerie Lafayette. They carry two American brands, Calvin Klein and Nautica. Flat sheets galore in twin, full, queen, king and California king. And 50% off! (I have two houses here with a total of 13 beds, so this is like a necessity for me, ergo worth the train ticket price.)

If you just need one sheet, probably not worth it unless you are going to Paris or Lyon anyway. I think Annecy has a Galerie Lafayette, so that may be closer but I've never been in that store.

Doesn't Loeb in Basel carry the brand Nautica? They might have some flat sheets.

Re: Flat Bed Sheets?

Bon prix have just one option for flat sheets at the moment.

https://www.bonprix.ch/produkt/bettt...-914640/#image

They call them 'Bettteucher'.

Available in black, white and grey, and the size does not go big enough to be comfortable for two people in a 'queen' size bed (in Australia a queen mattress is 180x200)....

And Kakerlaken are to be found everywhere, including in/on beds.
