It's been really very fun to watch our new garden change through the weeks and months. This morning we discovered that we have edelweiss!!
Ok, the picture isn't great. It was 7:30 in the am. I had to take the picture as I didn't know how long they would last. We live at 700 meters not 2000+ where you normally see edelweiss.

Don't worry, they'll last all summer - I have them in my garden too. They are found not only growing wild in the mountains but on the shelves of your local garden centre!

Well done! I put some seeds out last year, we're at 860 m and nothing has happened so far but now I live in hope
I bought some beginning of May this year and have them on my terrace (Zurich city) in pots. They're now starting to wilt a little but they're still beautiful

I'm sure someone bought them & planted them in the rockery area... But it's all new for us. It's fun as we don't know what will be there next!
Early in the spring we had the most beautiful dark purple irises. They were really gorgeous.
I've never actually seen edelweiss up close & personal so I was all giggly when I saw them. Seriously, I need to get out more!!
