Denner, the new Aldi on Zollstrasse, the outdoor markets at Helvetiaplatz and Burkliplatz often have pretty good prices for basic veg (but the more exotic stuff can be a bit more pricey) and I often go the Turkish and other ethnic shops around Langstrasse for some great value veg.
I used the outdoor markets for fruit and Veg in London a lot. I got most of my stuff from these. I haven't seen any markets in Zurich though. Grumpygrapefruit, you say Burkliplatz out door market? When is this market about?

Re: Cheapest place to buy Veg?

Turkish shops are usually cheapest.

Big one near Wiedikon (opposite Migros) - and another cheap one in Seebach (also near Migros) I know personally. Not always the best quality but can be 3x cheaper than Migros..

Don’t count out Lidl either.
Check out the web site for the best offers.
This goes for Aldo too.
You can beat German prices if you follow the specials

Re: Cheapest place to buy Veg?

You can also check out Farmy.ch
It's a website with bio food, and from what I have seen veg and fruit is cheaper than visiting a nearby convenience store. They also have some special offers which save some money.
Milk and dairy products, eggs, meat are also sold, but these seem to be a bit more expensive, though quality might be better than convenience stores because it comes from farms, it's not frozen, etc.
