Is there a way to filter those companies or entities of Amazon that will ship to CH? I'm still finding it a little hit 'n' miss e.g. some items only reveal their lack of Swiss delivery when you go to your basket and try and complete the order. I have German Prime if that helps.
No, there is an "international delivery" option but it doesn't really work.
I just filter on "sold by amazon" and/or "eligible for free delivery by amazon".

I ordered something a couple of months back that was below 65CHF and wasn't charged Swiss VAT by Amazon. This week I ordered something for 45 eur and *was* charged Swiss VAT by Amazon. Seems they might be adding VAT on all sales now?
With the VAT thing, it seems Amazon is charging Swiss VAT on *all* sales that are sold and supplied by Amazon regardless of the amount.
No VAT is applied for items shipped by, but not sold by, Amazon, provided they're below the threshold.
I just ordered four things in one order, only one had VAT applied.

No, I only have .com and prime free shipping at .it or .de works fine. Prime Video is another matter due to IP...
I usually buy from Amazon .de .fr .it
I have just subscribed Prime trial version in .fr but .de seems not recognizing it
Anyone has similar experience?

Separately, my amazon prime France account, allows me to access the prime tv/movie streaming service here in Switzerland with zero issues...

Re: Amazon Prime [delivery] coming to Switzerland

About amazon customer support and returns… I'm having an email exchange with them right now… JUST SUCKS! They are replying to the wrong items, somehow I'm talking now to Amazon UK for some reason and they are telling me that I should talk to Amazon Germany…

They are just a mess.

Incidentally, the first thing I then sent to the UK, declared it as a used item at half the value and all in it was 2/3rd the price of buying in the UK.
Something weird is going on with this forum, or at least smmgoal.

That's really bizarre. That post up there* that is now saying it's by "smmgoal" is actually a post that I had made. I have no idea who or what "smmgoal" is.

Re: Amazon Prime [delivery] coming to Switzerland

I just thought I'd mention that "Amazon Prime Day" is tomorrow and Tuesday (June 21 and 22). I guess I've never taken advantage of that before, but apparently they're supposed to have a lot of good deals for Prime members. It starts at midnight tonight, and it's for all Amazon sites (amazon.de, amazon.co.uk, etc.).

Re: Amazon Prime [delivery] coming to Switzerland

Hi !

Anybody got any update?

I emailed Amazon but did not get any reply.

Any success in ordering from Amazon.de lately? I am sure it is working but my question concerns what happened with Custom?

I've received quite a few things that I had ordered through amazon.de recently (especially in the past two weeks), with no problems at all.

Nothing has changed its the same as before... if its shipped by Amazon there are no customs fees as they are taken into account at the checkout. If it's shipped by a 3rd party (not Amazon) there will be customs fees as they are not taken into account at the checkout.

I have had to pay VAT or customs before on something that I ordered through amazon that cost about 100 bucks, including shipping. The items arrived as normal and then a week or two later, we received the bill in the mail for the extra VAT or customs charges.

Then I think it can't have been shipped from (by) Amazon, as the import duties would have been added to the checkout.

Are you a Prime member?

I ordered something and had it shipped here. I figured I just give it a try (as the pick-up place in Germany is a hassle at the moment).
I was surprised not be be charged postage and it arrived very quickly. No custom fees or anything but it was only worth about Fr. 40.00.
I'm not a Prime member.

Well, I always try to keep my order totals (including shipping) under 65 CHF * now, to avoid having to pay any surprise VAT or customs fees. I can't remember if that maximum total is 62 or 65 CHF, though, so someone here please feel free to correct me on that.

But yeah, I order stuff from amazon.de ALL the time, shipped to me here in Switzerland, without any problems or surprise fees as long as I keep the total for each order under that amount. I am a Prime member, too, and often receive really cheap shipping through there.

For some small Legos, you shouldn't have any problems with VAT or customs as long as you keep the order total under 62 or 65 CHF.

Yeah, I was surprised when we received that bill. It was for about 20 CHF, but I guess we just paid it without looking into it. I guess I figured that it was because the order total had been over 65 CHF.

Yeah, I'm a Prime member and was back then, too, when I had that one order where we received the surprise VAT/customs bill after the item had already arrived. I recently ordered a small tent through there that arrived without any problems, but the total for that order was around 70 CHF, and so now part of me is expecting to receive another surprise bill in the mail for the VAT/customs on that. Hopefully there won't be any surprises.

I think you have made the mistake that is commonly made and ordered from a third-party seller and not from Amazon themselves. Amazon shows the cheapest price first and often these are third party sellers and not Amazon, which are sometimes a little more expensive and further down the list.

Otherwise, I can't see how you would have been charged import duties. I have been shopping with them for years very regularly so I know how it works and my experiences with how import taxes are handled have been very consistent. If you buy from Amazon direct, and not a third party, they should handle import taxes to CH.

Okay. So if the item(s) is being shipped by amazon (but sold by a third party seller), any VAT or customs should be automatically tallied and included in the order? Does that include when it says "Fulfilled by Amazon?"

Now I'm going to go in and look to see if I can figure out where that tent was shipped from. I just looked and it says this:

"Sold by Geader Direct and Fulfilled by Amazon." And then if I pretend to be placing the order again, it calculates the total cost like this:

Order Summary
Items: €70.99
Postage & Packing: €0.00
Import Fees Deposit: €5.72
Order Total: €76.71
