for me I hope it means Amazon Prime video will be available here without need for a vpn/smartdns and that you can also rent videos from amazon and stream them here.
I think I will just continue get things sent to Las Burg in Weil am Rhein.
Have fun
Martin | | | | | Amazon prime video has been available for some time in Switzerland without having to use a VPN https://www.englishforum.ch/tv-inter...itzerland.html

Some things they deliver, some they don't it's pure pot luck..
And 2 days.. No chance , no way, never.
And if you get lucky and they do deliver something, remember the tax / customs implications |

Sometimes. Have it delivered to Konstanz. Much cheaper. The amount you save will pay for the train Zurich Konstanz. Return 22 CHF or less. | Quote: | | | | | I may be moving to Switzerland from the US soon. Silly question but just curious- does Amazon deliver there? (Zurich/zug areas) If yes, do they have 2 day Prime delivery like in the US? | | | | | |

Amazon Prime is coming to CH: http://lenews.ch/2017/11/28/amazon-c...o-switzerland/
To add to the OP's question, why aren't we able to get Amazon Prime Video here? It exists, but is a very small selection, and they now block my VPN. I have friends who live just over the border who get the whole lot...is it because we have to wait for Prime's arrival?

My personal experience: Any article that you want to have delivered shows whether it is deliverable to Switzerland or not.
Anything that I've ordered has always arrived within 2 days delivery.
By the way, all orders come from Germany i.e. if you want to register with / buy from Amazon.ch, then you are automatically directed to Amazon.de.
Prime e-books works well from Switzerland (so this is immediate electronic) delivery, but haven't tried anything else.
But for all published stuff, you need to be aware that what's available from Switzerland is not as up-to-date as e.g. U.S or U.K, which is frustrating.

Yes it always says if they deliver to CH. Whether you get it in 2 days depends on what it is and whether it comes from an external source or whether its in the Amazon warehouse. Sometimes its sent by Amazon and sometimes by third party. | Quote: | | | | | My personal experience: Any article that you want to have delivered shows whether it is deliverable to Switzerland or not.

I had both positive and negative experiences. Some articles arrive quick, other slow and then some were just not delivered and apparently sent back by customs without clear reason.

It's a bit third-world to have to go to another country to get one's post.

We use ours about three times a year. Mostly around christmas or if we order something special off of ebay like some old vintage hipster thing that you just cant find at Migros or Aldi. I dont shop on Amazon except for books.

Never quite figured out what the problem is though. They deliver a fair bit of stuff here, and if you can't be bothered to go to Germany to pick up an item you ordered, just order it in a Swiss shop instead.

I appreciate half the problem has got nothing to do with Switzerland but the foreign suppliers but quite often, when I give up trying to buy a spare part in Switzerland or Germany, I find a company in the U.K. who ship it next day, for a couple of quid, no problems, no email exchanges, no hassle.

| | | | | Because you want it all, and you want it now?
CH prices have become more favorable thanks to bikestr and galaxus.ch. That said, the last few years me and my wife have been trying to get rid of things, not buy more. It actually feels better to get rid of things vs buying more stuff. But I am still a sucker for older things that were made from craftsmen and made to last, and not break down two weeks after the warranty is over.

Also, not next year, plenty of Swiss companies that deliver within one day. Or same day even.
Things aren't that complicated really.

If Amazon won't deliver the stuff I want which is not easily available here to Switzerland I find someone who will. It is usually possible and infinitely easier than going all the way to Germany to collect it.
