I could return for free to Amazon. Worked pretty smooth.

No thought about returning it, unless it's actually broken on arrival, but certainly something to bear in mind in the future.

| | Re: Amazon Prime [delivery] coming to Switzerland | Quote: | | | | | They tell you up to 24 but I've never received the full postage without having to get in touch with them after they issued the refund. Actually last time I got the usual half postage refund and then later the full amount of the postage i.e. about 1.5 times what it cost. | | | | | I really don't know what you really expect, but I've always received the full postage and even sometimes more. I just returned something because it was damage and the postage was CHF 12 and they returned to me almost CHF 14.
Of course you have to get in contact with them to show them the postage receipt or how do you think they are going to know how much was the cost?
Even if you have prime and live in the US, it's like that, unless you drop the parcel on a designated like a UPS store or something like that. Yeah, of course it could be like Zalando, that you only have signal what are you returning on the web—you already have the return label and the box is ready to be reused— but I guess on amazon you have a low ratio of returns since you don't try on your shopping goods.
I'm not saying that amazon is wonderful —and there is room for improvement— but is not bad either.

Indeed, I also always got my money back, but had to contact them etc and I suppose they count on the fact that a lot of people will not go through the hassle.

But it happens rarely so hopefully your TV will be delivered intact |

Wow Amazon UK have now put a flat rate of 14.99 GBP on items shipped to CH, even for something as small as a shoelace https://www.amazon.co.uk/LOCK-LACES-...7894366&sr=8-5

They charged 9.99 EUR for windshield wipers (I tried with two so the total amount was above minimum qualified for free delivery). However for different model of windshield wipers the shipping was for free.
The only difference was that for the first windshield wipers they offered only premium shipping while for the second one there was one more option. |

But it happens rarely so hopefully your TV will be delivered intact | | | | | It was. Delivered by Swiss Post, which I always much prefer. | Quote: | | | | | | | | | | I've seen with some French and German shippers that shipping charges vary depending on the country, and that the same product by bought from different vendors may be charged differently, or even be unavailable in CH. The .DE site seems better set up for Swiss deliveries in general, but we often use the .FR one to get deliveries to a Point Relais just across the border in Chatel.
But the .uk site seems to be doing it differently, with this £14.99 being added to many, but not all, products. Confusing, and although I haven't bought anything, some items do now/still seem to be able to ship here without the additional charge.
Of course it may be that in some cases it's worth paying the extra if the price is right, but more experimentation would be needed...

Any idea on when (or if) the streaming side of Prime is coming to CH? I've been juggling between Netflix and USTVNow for watching things but there's quite a few things on Prime that I'd like to have access to.

It's been here for ages via Amazon DE, I use it on my TV since ages.

It's not legal - but using NordVPN or similar will bypass region locks.
The legal alternative is torrents with uploading disabled... also tends to be higher quality than netflix

We have Amazon Prime through a TV app and most content is in English (US titles) but quite a bit of foreign titles (Mostly German). When visiting the US recently I noticed that the content on my ipad via the Amazon Prime app was indeed more inclusive of US titles than when I am in CH. I recall similar when we were in Spain prior to confinement last year with mostly Spanish titles
Even our Netflix account (Without VPN) seems to pick up more US titles than a colleague of mine here in Switzerland - not sure why that is

Digitec/Galaxus are basically the best of the worst for me. Not only do you have to pay for the return shipping if a products does not perform up to spec (happened to us) also they charge a restocking fee.
