Glass and Plastic in Zurisack

Hi Guys,

Can I be fined if occasionally I dispose some plastic, glass and paper in the Zurisack?
My understanding so far was that the higher price is due to the taxes associated with such disposal. However recently I read that glass, plastic, paper and cardboard cannot be put in there. Is that true? What about food waste?

Thanks in advance for the clarification.

Re: Glass and Plastic in Zurisack

You can put in as much plastic, paper, card board, and food stuff as you like and willing to pay for bags.

Glass, because of safty reason should be disposed at the respective collecting points.
Bottles, flask, jars and such at the Recycling points:

Please do not throw any ceramic, pottery in the glass recycling container. It realy messes up glass recycling! If you have a bottle with ceramic cap remove it and throw it in the regular trash.

Flat glass from windows, pictures frames, and mirrors etc at the Haggenholz, Werdhölzli collection points or the Cargo Tram.

Single broken glasses such as wine glasses, beer glasses, cocktail glasses etc. Can be wraped in newspaper and thrown in the regular trash. If you clean out your cupbords and get rid of all your glasses you should bring them to the Haggenholz, Werdhölzli collection points or the Cargo Tram.

Pottery, ceramig, china etc. should be brought to the Haggenholz, Werdhölzli collection points or the Cargo Tram.

What you can but in the Zürich Sack:
Christmas tree*, classic light bulbs, halogen lamp, hygiene articles, cat litter and sand, plastic material, plastic packaging, nylon stocking, paper shreds, paper carrier bag, razor blade (goodly packed), vacuum cleaner bags, tetrapak, deep-freeze packaging, drinking glass (small quantities), the stuff you sweeped together with a broom, cigarette butts.

What you should not go in the Zürich Sack:
batteries and rechargeable batteries (return at any point of sales free of charge), aluminium, electrical appliance (return at any point of sales free of charge), color (return at point of sale), china wear, glass, ceramics, medicine, metal, mirrors.
