getting apartment with betreibung

hello mates .

at the movement ,im living in 4.5 zimmer apartment alone in Winterthur ,near to railway station . and im searching for a 1.5 -2.5 zimmer apartment ,because im having Betreibung ,and paying every month . and im working 100 % now .

i did not have any problem with my hause owner till now , im paying my home rent always . i can bring a letter from my apartment owner to prove .but i want to change the apartment ,because im paying 1700 Fr monthly for my apartment .if i change to a small apartment ,i think i can pay some more amount to betreibungsamt and try to finish it soon .thats why im looking for a new small apartment . i dont want to share apartment with anyone .

is there anyone got any ideas? will it be hard to find a new apartment with betreibung?
im keenly looking for your answer .

thank you all.

regards
rag.

Re: getting apartment with betreibung

You could look down in the Marketplace section under Property Offered to see if there's anything, but I suspect most landlords will not want a tenant with a Betreibung notice against them.

A cheap small apartment with no lack of other applicants? Yes.

Try looking for a WG, non professionals won't usually ask you about your betreibungen, it's cheaper too. Preferably move to a different village or at least Kreis serviced by a different Betreibungsamt - then you automatically get a clean Betreibungsauskunft in the new place for future references

I suspect that would qualify as a bribe and would only get you into more trouble. You should talk nicely to your creditors instead, they can ask for the record to be pulled, but there's no guarantee they'll do it

Re: getting apartment with betreibung

You're in a bit of a Catch 22 situation i.e. in order to pay the Betreibung off more quickly then, you'd need a cheaper apartment. The problem is, it will be very difficult to be considered for any new apartment when you have a Betreibung that hasn't yet been paid-off.

Even when you have paid it-off, it will remain about 5 more years on your Betreibungs register. The best you can do is ask the company you owed the money to whether they would be willing to have the entry removed from the register, once the amount has been paid in full (or potentially before). This will also incur charges (but it's not that high).

Here's a link with example letters, but only in German:

https://www.konsumentenschutz.ch/the...n-sie-ihn-los/

My understanding is that most companies will be prepared to delete the Betreibung, once it's paid. The link also provides some example templates in German.

Good luck - sometimes things are easier than you envisage!

Edit: Ah, just found this in English as well:

Re: getting apartment with betreibung

Maybe get a short term loan so you can pay off the Betreibung and then get the record removed

I don't think he means as a bribe. I think he means it the way ZuriRollt has said - a cheaper flat would allow him to pay back more money, thereby reducing the debt faster.

The trick is, how does one find a new flat all for yourself when you have a betreibung? OP doesn't want to live in a WG with others. I'm guessing the only option where one would not need to show a debt register extract would be a sublet with a private individual. If he can find a studio apartment that would probably be cheapest.

Or maybe his existing landlord has other properties and would be willing to let him move to one of them?

Agree with ivank though, living in a WG with others even for a short time could save a stack of cash compared to having a solo flat.

Bad idea:

a) More debt. is not what's needed - he quite rightly wants to live debt. free
b) Applying for a loan with an open Betreibung will be refused as far as I know
c) Any loan application refused will negatively affect a credit status

Re: getting apartment with betreibung

Can you rent out one of your rooms for a while ? That would reduce the rent without the cost of moving...
