Indian food tiffin services in Geneva

Are there any Indian food tiffin services in Geneva? As I am going to CERN and will live there, I want Indian food on daily basis. If there are any Indian tiffin services in Geneva please inform me about that.

You must be a very important person.

Here you go. Won't be Indian prices, mind you.

Make your own maybe.

The market for such a service is so limited, it just doesn't exist !

Tiffin wallahs are something very specific to one single city even within India... no place outside Mumbai offers them as far as I have seen(?).

Switzerland is the last place on the planet as it would require cheap ingredients, cheap labour costs and cheap transport costs.

Dear OP, maybe your new employer did not warn you: Switzerland is one of the most expensive places on the planet. Eating a lunch in a subsidized company cantine can be up to 20 CHF. Eating outside most likely more. Special wishes like Indian food cost extra...

You are confusing the Mumbai Dabbawallas with a tiffin service. Former is logistical wonder where they collect home prepared lunch boxes from homes and deliver to offices (hyped up with 6 sigma error rates blah blah), latter is a service to deliver food at work or hotels of which there are quite a few, none in CH though.

There are a couple in Zurich, link for one of them for e.g.
http://www.delhihouse.ch/

I am sure there would be in Geneva too, however the delivery mostly depends on the number of customers in your office.

Suggest to get in touch with local Indian community/restaurant

Is the OP's request atypical of the Indian community (i.e. wanting Indian food on daily basis) or do Indians eat other types of food as well?

Just wondering....

While I do have my comfort food from Indian cuisines, I cant imagine eating it every day. Who will then eat all the pastas and pies and ramen and pho and dumplings and spaetzles? These are my comfort food as well! And thats just the start! Also, cooking Indian food daily, in an open plan swiss kitchen, will give you the dreaded curry aroma aura.

Madhura Marché near the Servette stop has a daily lunch takeout special. I think it is 15Francs per lunch. I cannot speak to the quality though.

Well Indian tour groups are famous (infamous?) for taking their own cooks with them on their European* tours...

*European stressed to try to stop this degenerating into a discussion on Swiss food

It's part of the hard learning curve for Indians (me being one of them), you miss, you long the food, you make your own stuff, you ask for services which don't exist, then you become the frequent visitor of migros and coop, and then you start disliking their food and enjoy local delicacies..

Most of the participants of these groups are older people who are doing their dream european trip. They are often close to retirement age or even older. At that age, its an adjustment that will stress out this group further. So it makes sense that they seek out Indian food. But the younger Indians, they are usually quite open about food from other cultures.

OP; perhaps you should consider joining the Indian Association in Geneva?
https://www.indianassociationgeneva.com/

There's also a Facebook page;
https://m.facebook.com/IndianAssociationGeneva/

They're a well established group with vast local knowledge, I'm pretty sure they'll make you welcome and be able to answer your questions.
