This. OP, I see only one solution in your case: avoid those areas at those times that you consider unsafe. Fear, anxiety, etc etc. are very unpleasant and soul consuming, so think of not exposing yourself to such situations. I guess that, like in most cases, even if the danger is not real, the fear is.

There are many people who come on this forum having all sort of problems but the reality is we don't have answers for everybody. Most people here are not afraid. You are trying too hard to get them into your state of mind.

So it's OK, you noticed, proposed, don't expose yourself to even more criticism. It's a good time for cuddling at home with a good book and a nice glass of wine..Life is too short to worry so much about all sort of things.

Btw, I've personally been there a few days ago and it didn't even cross my mind it is not safe. I enjoyed the atmosphere, the people, the lights, being outside...I loved it. Seriously, let it go.
