I don't know why you lot are having a go at the OP to be honest. In April, at that very market, I saw terrorists on horseback setting fire to a tied up, large pale man. It can happen in Zurich, don't let your guard down.
then they blew his head off with a bomb!!!!!

You are not part of the solution, you are just a coward who has given in to terrorism. You have absolutely noting to do with the decisions of the Canton.

most importantly everybody must realize that this has nothing to do with Switzerland other than the fact that it is in Switzerland and swiss authorities must organize the appropriate security measures however this has to do with international norms international responsibilities and international events because if something were to happen this will be on international news and the consequences will be world-wide reaching.

...And speaking of threads has anyone recently checked if the Glühwein contains Coumarin (LD50 293 mg/kg) or Eugenol (LD50 1930 mg/kg)? Toxic poisons which can be easily added and hidden in Glühwein.
Ah - that explains the headache I've had all day.

This. OP, I see only one solution in your case: avoid those areas at those times that you consider unsafe. Fear, anxiety, etc etc. are very unpleasant and soul consuming, so think of not exposing yourself to such situations. I guess that, like in most cases, even if the danger is not real, the fear is.

There are many people who come on this forum having all sort of problems but the reality is we don't have answers for everybody. Most people here are not afraid. You are trying too hard to get them into your state of mind.

So it's OK, you noticed, proposed, don't expose yourself to even more criticism. It's a good time for cuddling at home with a good book and a nice glass of wine..Life is too short to worry so much about all sort of things.

Btw, I've personally been there a few days ago and it didn't even cross my mind it is not safe. I enjoyed the atmosphere, the people, the lights, being outside...I loved it. Seriously, let it go.

Just because nothing has happened doesn't mean noone has planned anything. Alot goes on behind the scenes which we are never going to know about.

Only if they are Halal, but adding that would have been too long and the joke would be broken.
