Grey insurance card for a car

Can someone just confirm whether these need to be updated each year even if you keep the same insurance company? I've always had company cars and this is the first full year I owned a car...its insured and taxed Swiss style. Thanks

Nope, you just keep the same grey card until something changes ( change of owner/holder etc).

Re: Grey insurance card for a car

It's not an insurance card, it's the registration card.

It only needs to be replaced if something changes (address, insurance company, etc.).

Make sure you have decent a copy of the grey card.... probably best if you photocopy it and keep the copy in the car.

Re: Grey insurance card for a car

A grey card question.

The garage selling a car we'd like to buy is 250km away from us.

To estimate the value of our current car in part exchange, one thing they've asked for is a scanned copy of the grey card.

It seems like a fair request; is there any cause for concern?

Re: Grey insurance card for a car

It's fine.

A scan or copy has no value.

They need the data to put into eurotax. Anyway without the original they cannot "steal" it from you.
