If I understand correctly, it was carrying Polonium, Lithium and Cerium and that's why police divers were used.

Lake Zurich Residence time 440 days
comapred to lake constance Bondensee Residence time 4.3 years
Lake Lucerne Vierwaldstättersee Residence time3.4 years

Lake retention time (also called the residence time of lake water, or the water age or flushing time) is a calculated quantity expressing the mean time that water (or some dissolved substance) spends in a particular lake. The retention time is especially important where pollutants are concerned.

the drone parachute deployed so it was a soft crash... the blood samples were not relevant whatever that means... and the container remained sealed....

additionally there are dead bodies recovered fro the lake every year so I would be more concerned about that.

Retention time, NOT residence time!

Lake Lugano (northern bassin) 11.9 years!
Lake Zug 14.7 years!
Sempach 16.9 years!
Wohlensee 2.1 days!

Re: Transport drone crashed in Lake Zurich

Mystery solved:

"The drone was carrying a 'non-relevant' blood sample (that is, one which had been previously analysed) in a bid to see whether flight conditions affected the sample."

Yep, that's right, the 3,900 billion litres of water in Lake Zürich are now teeming with "AIDS bacteria" (I'm looking forward to your explanation) and urine. That must have been one hell of a night out on the piss for whichever AIDS patient donated that blood sample.

Since the start of the project, more than 2,000 flights have taken place between the Lugano hospital group’s two hospitals, the “Ospedale Italiano” and the “Ospedale Civico”. Today, the drone is in daily use in Lugano.

Re: Transport drone crashed in Lake Zurich

its mostly about the flow and the size. a lot of flow in and out and a small lake will refresh much faster....

If that drone was being used in Lugano, it would have had to fly a long way.

but the drones were made in the USA so that's a really long fight to get to Zurich

but not impossible check out the path this small aircraft took from the u.s. to Switzerland

Here's an interesting story about a seafaring 'drone', a solar powered autonomous boat someone built in his garage that made it from California to Hawaii:

Omtatsat, if you're joking please add some emoticons because we tend to take each other rather (too) seriously here.

I always hoped that you have a very sarcastic and dry sense of humour people can't get.

So seriously - do you really believe that?
