Beard care shops & barbes

Dear bearded colleagues,

I having issues finding shops/e-shops in Switzerland with products for beard care: oil, balm, styling balm, wax, etc. Do you know any? I believe I need to hoard some product before moving :P

Besides that, I'm looking for "normal" barber shops in Zurich. Normal meaning: where they know how to trim a beard and a moustache without destroying it and without trying to be ultra hipster.

Thanks and keep on growing!

Re: Beard care shops & barbes

Disclaimer: i do not have a beard!!

However considering how many there are on this side of the country it surprised me that there would be none in Zurich. I googled 'beard shop' and found at least 6. One was bullfrog, the other mad barber.

I was going to say Bullfrog too. It's always busy when I pass it.

Re: Beard care shops & barbes

I have a friend in Basel who insists on travelling to Bullfrog in Zürich for his regular beard maintenance.

I make do with my Philips beard trimmer.

Re: Beard care shops & barbes

Coincidentally, QoQa is offering a Braun MGK 7021 MultiGrooming Kit (a.k.a. beard trimmer) for CHF 69, down from the RRP of CHF 95. The offer runs for today only, till midnight Monday, but only while stocks last. If you want one, be quick -- the offer was 18% sold in the first 12 minutes!

Re: Beard care shops & barbes

Bullfrog it is for my first trim. Thank you all 🙏

I got a trimmer and I can recommend it for trimming and keeping clean lines. (get some mineral oil too to keep it in shape and ready).

Also if someone is into DIY oil I got some recipes (PM me). But in the end it is more expensive than buying what you need, unless we gather a bunch of beards and produce a good batch.

Re: Beard care shops & barbes

Regarding e-shops and beard oil, I've ordered with success both from nassrasieren.ch and direct from Dr. K.

I haven't gone the DIY oil route, but for other purposes the local drugstore (Apoteka) had tea tree oil in a large bottle and was happy to measure out a desired quantity (50ml) for me. At some point I mean to ask if they have essential oils, apricot oil for a base, etc.
