Indeed, my wife used to make me go out on Friday nights until dawn!

Tom
Now that the first post to like, so now one can say your ex-wife is enjoying her time with a better man.

Well may be I work at some strange swiss company, everyone like a clock in the evening is back to their family, all "lets go for a drink" from other colleagues - "ah no, my wife is waiting to help with children", all corporatives "time is after 8 pm" - "ah, I have to go it is too late, my family is waiting", "lets go somewhere" - "ah no, we already planned something with my family", etc, etc...so at some point everyone ceases to propose anything and only single/student interns hang out
All very valid reasons. If you have young kids and have forgotten what it's like to get more than 5 hours sleep (on a good day!), that the very few available hours left in the day are to do your shopping, cooking, (very) basic tidying and cleaning, that's all you've got time for, HOWEVER MUCH one would love to go out! I have long gone past this stage of my life, but I remember begging from within for a bit of time to go out and just being too knackered to make the effort. Have a little sympathy, it might not be all out of rejection of you.

What's this discrimination against middle aged men and women ?

life's boring enough, so, do we really need another snowflake , another millenial having a rant because she got 2-3 messages in her inbox

I've been in Switzerland almost a month and I'm not really enjoying it yet.

I am tempted to pack up and leave, but I'd like to give it a chance. Anyone else had trouble adjusting when you first moved? How long does it take to get the hang of things?

(Also, NO, guys please don't send me any more messages offering to meet me for a drink, it doesn't look friendly it looks creepy)
This forum is not the place to ask these kind of questions... you’ll definitely bump into a years worth of Switzerland’s dickheads in a day on here...

This sounds like a whole load of excuses for something that doesn't need to be excused. Some people simply have done enough drinking half the night with work-collegues and thoroughly enjoy having kids and all the ballyhoo that goes with it.

If OP insists on going out with those people, all she has to do is wait until the kids are teenies or until the people get divorced. And back to the pub it is.

I think the author of the thread received messages and was upset about it. Otherwise don't see any discrimination here.

Most of the senders are probably "guests". I bet that post of her's popped up in google faster then we could read it.

I don't get any sexual messages in my inbox (could be to do with my avatar).
The OP has an opinion, what's the problem?

For crying out loud, would have expected you all to have recognised the conclusion that the OP reacted very appropriately to very sexist comments posted.

Well, I would, BUT I'd have to translate the entire thread into Italian!

She would have a good laugh about it, though.
