Where to buy traditional spring mattresses?

Hello everyone. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to buy nice mattresses that are constructed with springs? I need a new mattress but have noticed that the mattresses here all (or at least mostly) seem to be made of foam. This isn't exactly what I am looking for I don't think. It would be nice to have a choice of materials and I am hoping for something more "natural" (e.g. cotton, wool, silk, etc.).

I could get a mattress in the UK and have it shipped but the sizes are smaller (150x200 rather than the Continent's 160x200 so it will be too small for my new bed).

Any thoughts? I had no idea it would be so tricky. Also, "normal priced" would be great too (under CHF 2000).

Thanks!

Mattresses have come a long way since springs inside, try some of the modern ones, you'll be pleasantly surprised i think.

Maybe. I just see them now and think "What is all this space age stuff??".

I have hip pain in the morning when I use my current mattress (firm springs) and just slept on my old mattress at my mom's house at Christmas (cushy springs), and it was like sleeping on a cloud. Glorious pillow top but without a proper pillow top. A mattress that I have not used much but bought in California in 1996 for like $600.

I have not had that cloud experience when I have tried foam. It just sort of feels flat. But I can try again.

Investing in a good mattress is something worthwhile for health reasons and not to be underestimated. We spend one third of our time (if you get 8 hours rest) on them.

Did you even try a traditional mattress shop yet?

When you say "traditional", do you mean a regular one here that has lots of foam mattresses? If so, yes. It's the only sort of mattress shop that I have been able to find. But I live in Ticino so there isn't a lot of choice. I could look elsewhere though as long as they can deliver.

I would love to look at mattresses that are handmade. When I had a landline, someone would call me asking me if I wanted one. Now that I might need one, I wish I knew his name.
