I've spent the last three days copying all of our music CDs onto to my computer. I now have a couple of boxes of tunes, that we no longer need.

I am sitting here, covered in dust, wondering what I can do with this trove.

I'm certain I can't sell them singly or in bulk,
I'm certain I can't give them away, well maybe one or two to a friend,
I don't want to throw them into the paid-for rubbish bags and leave them for collection.
They are mostly plastic (???) and cardboard. I really don't want to dismantle them.

Any other possibilities?
If it's metal I'll take it

With adverts, and then it's not always what you want.
I think Youtube has beeg getting stricter of late.

Quite a few clips that I used to listen to now and then have been blocked or deleted recently.

So it's a Catch 22. Nowhere I can find that I can buy the tracks legally but I can't get them on Youtube either.

Especially when it comes to stuff that I actually discovered on Youtube and where I'm not really sure who the band are or what the title of the song is. A lot of stuff out there is labelled incorrectly.

Re: Old Music CDs

I'm still quite happy listening to CD's. I almost bought a CD recorder not too long ago. For anything of interest, I'd be happy to pay 1CHF per piece. To me it's a convenient supplement to online/.mp3/whatever.

Re: Old Music CDs

Excuse me but I screwed up in burning some of the disks to iTunes. Have begun redoing it which will take me a few days.

I’ll get back to those that have offered to take them as soon as I’m finished.

Re: Old Music CDs

Unless you already have followed the 3-2-1 backup rule, suggest you box them up securely, store in the basement or attic as appopriate - you really DON'T want to have to re-rip them all.
