his accent seemed Spanish or Latin-american. WTF?
Look honey. You do not understand French well enough to act on what is said to you (maybe there was an emergency and he had to go an fix the machine which goes ping in the nearby hospital) but on the other hand you think you are in the capacity to distinguish what his accent his form. Don't you agree with me that that this is kind of strange and not very convincing, one could even say fishy?

You know what? You guys really are idiots. I could have easily given that pensioner twat trying to run me over a punch that would have put him on the ground. I have done so in another incident on the other side of the globe, no problem. I wanted to hear about experience of handling aggressive behaviour in CIVILISED European way (The English were civilised, I thought?). There is no doubt in my mind that all these people who tell me to grow balls would run shitless when facing me in a situation like this. Goodbye, don't bother to exercise your moronic wit on me anymore.

No you couldn't, you've already shown us you got no balls, Brave Boy

I would have reparked my car, taken your cart, moved it to the most inconvenient place possible, then got back in my car and driven home.

You probably shouldn't take my advice, I'm known to be non confrontational.

This happened on the parking lot of a supermarket in France, near Swiss border. I came back to the parking with a trolley, opened the trunk and starting loading things in. At the same time the guy on the opposite side of the isle started pulling out. Apparently the isle was not wide enough for him to turn comfortably, and my trolley made it 1/2 meter narrower. He rolled the window down and yelled something apparently asking me to move on. My French is limited so I did not exactly understand what he said, but it was pretty unfriendly. I did my best to explain with a gesture and a smile that I need just one more second and will be gone. Apparently he did not want to wait and just backed off right into my trolley, pressing the trolley against my car, scratching my car as well as his own. I was lucky not to get hurt. After that he just drove off. I was stunned - how many times in my life did I drive from a supermarket parking? Never a problem. I always waited when necessary, and other people waited for me. Also the guy did not look dangerous - older couple, battered Citroën minivan. The guy looked like a typical chubby retired car factory worker, his accent seemed Spanish or Latin-american. WTF? What is in those people's heads? Why are they so aggressive? What would you do in a situation like this?
PS: surroundings of Mullhouse just across the border from Basel is not a nice place, full of aggressive white trash. It's not the first time I face problems there, but for the first time it was dangerous.
People with shopping trolleys are sometimes so damned arrogat. Its like they are saying " get out of my way i'm coming through!"

Re: What would you do in situation like this?

Since we had moved deep in the mids of canton Aargau, the border is more distant for us ever since. Everyone is being polite and understanding though, no trolleys bumping to your car and local languages spoken, only friendly white trash everywhere to boot. But the repetitive food menu from Denner is shiite. Cannot have it all in life

Call your insurance, let them sort out the scratch. Nobody got hurt, so no point making a song and dance about it.

But seriously though, one lesson of driving anywhere is: Don't argue with a person driving a car worth less than a bicycle.
They often have actively taken the decision to utilise such a vehicle in the knowledge that bumps, scrapes, parking damage and careless driving will not materially impact the cost of their "car".
Bonus points for renault twingo drivers.
If you have the necessary insurance for that, that is. Mine would just politely tell me to sod off, if I don't have the culprit's data (which of course I would have ).

Oh and no, not all of us drivers of cheap cars are like that.

I do agree though, do not argue with car drivers while they are behind a wheel. Any.

Yes, I figured he didn't mind adding a scratch to his car. But there was a serious risk of hurting me. It's amazing he didn't care about this at all. He must have had a shit job for 40 years at that car factory, I can't imagine what else can you make you that aggressive at the age of 60.
May I ask why didn't you take his licence plate and make a complaint to the local police? Not that it would actually happen anything, just for the sake of it.

Or did you expect a different answer?
