Where to find stylish classic beds?

Does anyone have suggestions where one can find nicer made, stylish beds/bedframes (not mattresses) in Switzerland similar to The White Company or Loaf in the UK? So circa CHF 1500-2500? I am not looking for Ikea or Conforama but something that is solidly built without looking heavy. Maybe with a padded and tucked headboard. I have looked at Elite but they appear to be more mattress specialists, so their selection is limited.

I have researched getting one in the UK but I'm interested in a Queen (or what the UK call a King) but their Kings are only 150 x 200, not 160 x 200 like they are here. Plus the shipping is at least 2/3 the cost of the bed!

Thanks so much.

Re: Where to find stylish classic beds?

I make custom furniture so I may be able to help you. The main problem with padded headboards is that they are not so popular here, upholstery work is expensive but ideally suited for mass production. There's very little soft furnishings made in Switzerland as the cost of production can not compete with the EUROZONE. Finding transport solutions is more difficult than finding products online but there are a few members here that do runs to the UK if you have a good pickup location or contact me for a more wood based solution.

Thanks. I have found a number of sites like Home24.com that have similar types of beds and also deliver. I was looking for beds that are a little more stylish (traditional but pretty), have a bit more character, etc. Most of the beds on this site are under CHF 1000 or even 500. Any other sites you know of?

Thanks. I am not necessarily looking for a bed made in Switzerland, but just one that can be bought here. It could be made in France, Italy, wherever really. Part of the problem with UK-Swiss delivery is that I live in Ticino for the moment (possibly looking to move to Vaud later) and so shipping is expensive because I'm much further south.

Re: Where to find stylish classic beds?

Define "stylish". That's not exactly a clear term. Maybe you should post a few pictures of what it is you're looking for.

I have one that looks similar to this one here: https://www.thewhitecompany.com/uk/R...Tweed+Mid+Grey
and love it, found it at Lipo which is kind of an outlet store if you will, paid I think around 2k including delivery and set-up. Size is 180*200cm, but you can choose the size you want. Mine's a boxspring, but they have "normal" ones too that look the same way.

Yes, a bit like that. Or this:

https://loaf.com/products/dozer-upholstered-bed

OR:

https://loaf.com/products/joelle-french-bed

But there are others. Shabby chic. Like some beds at Maisons du Monde but better in quality. Not plastic, blocky, modern or cheap looking - which so far has been the only thing I have found here. I would also like space underneath the bed so it looks less heavy. The beds at Elite tick the boxes too but they cost around CHF 12,000 - without even the mattress! Yea, wish I could but nope. If my bedroom could fit a 180 x 200 it would be less problematic as that size exists in the UK too. But even I could fit that bed in the room, I'd also have to rebuy all bed linen which is also a hassle and additional cost.

I will check out Lipo!
