How is life in Mannedorf/Stafa

Hello, we are a Italo-Portuguese family currently living in Zumikon. we are wondering how is life in Männedorf and Stäfa: public school, occasions to meet other foreigners, general friendliness, kids activities and services. We find Zumikon expensive for what it offers and generally very boring.... and sometimes unfriendly

Those two don't sound like they would change this impression too much.

Re: How is life in Mannedorf/Stafa

I live in Stafa which I like very much, mainly for it's harbour and lake frontage. I couldn't in all honesty say that I have met many foreigners here and nor do I think you would find it massively more interesting than where you currently are.

We moved here from Uetikon am See when our oldest child was about to start the first year of SEK. Within a year we moved our youngest son out of the state school system and into the privaye system and our older son quickly followed suit. To be honest, I think Stafa has one of the worst reputations for state schooling along the right-hand side of the Lake. Certainly we were totally unimpressed with it and a couple of the teachers/headmasters in particular, although these individuals have since retired.

I am glad I moved here. I have previously lived in Herrliberg and Uetikon am See. I can't say I find a great deal of difference between any of them.
