Re: Swiss sperm quality is very bad

With all the expats here this should only be a problem to some people who feel that the "Authentic Swiss" needs to be preserved.

Can't be the air here, we tried for over a year in the Netherlands, but succeeded within days in Switzerland

In your case it's probably all the fumes from the 3d printer, but those may also be contributing factors.

Re: Swiss sperm quality is very bad

The amount of smokers (and passive smokers) is most likely one of the reasons. It's stunning how many people still live the chimney life here, as if we're still in early 90's.

The other one .. is the food. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's bad (not at all!) but often it's so riddled with pesticides, artificial flavours and who knows what

For an example it's really not normal for bread not to go stale or hard after 2-3 days since it was opened, but here they are still fresh, super soft and clean even 10 days after.

Meat is a whole other topic, it's expensive, but the quality is often questionable to say the least. Maybe Migros and COOP just serve the 'lower quality' stuff in general, but I've never had as many bad experiences with weird tasting meat as I've had in Switzerland.

General day to day items aside from fresh fruit have so many chemical mixtures in them I'm getting a bit paranoid in what I'm actually eating here and how will it affect health in long-term. Though this isn't to do with Switzerland exclusively, pretty much the whole western European market foods are heavily processed, there is very little 'natural' stuff left.

Agreed, I would say it will kill them off eventually, but the youngsters are still in on it.

I have the exact opposite experience. If you don't eat it on the way home from the shop, it's generally only good for toast.

I've not had any issues with Coop, even their 'red' imported meat is of a very high quality.
Take a wander into Lidl and Aldi if you want to see what the grisly stuff is like, and I'm including fish and chicken in that.

Obviously, we all have different experiences and expectations.

People in many country's smoked much more in the 60's/70's/80's yet the fertility was much higher. Also the Swiss are not even close to be the country where people smoke the most.

As for food, I don't think we have more pesticides and stuff added to our food than other European countries, as you say so yourself that can't be the sole reason.

And meat, well coming from the Netherlands Swiss meat is a blessing. If you want bad meat grab some random packs in a Dutch supermarket.

Personally I believe it is a mixture a many diff things, some important ones to me are how nature works, the better we do, the less our offspring dies the less we need to "produce", however that would be an evolution thing, and evolution does not work that fast I guess. And I can't prove it, but all the stuff we add to our food can't be good on the long run, we completely overdose on some vitamins/minerals, also I have wondered how healthy some jobs are, plenty of people spend their life with hardly any activity, just sitting on the office, and at home sitting on the couch. Parents are becoming older when getting children, perhaps this effects the children. But tbh, If even science has no clue than I will not solve this problem.

Male sperm count has halved in the western world over the last 40 years, so surely something is going on.

The Fresh bread that you put in paper bags gets hard quickly and can be used to build a house after two days, the soft in plastic pre-packed bread is still unchanged after 10 days. No clue how they do it, but it also hardly tastes like bread.

I mostly just grab a bag of oven croissants.

In my experience every bread, zopf, etc in a paper bag dries out, in a copule days at most, unless it's in a BrotTruhe. Do you use one?

We keep it in airtight bags and out of the light.

Maybe they should make a humidor for bread.

and it's not just that app, any app can be a "hook up" app now. Online porn likely has something to do with it but who knows.

There is an area in California with high breast cancer rates, they have studied it for years and still they got no real idea, sometimes it's a mystery

Switzerland has the highest number of Apple devices per capita, also smartphones in general.

We are perhaps leading the way in this long term electromagnetic radiation study experiment, and the first results are coming in.

Or, using them to watch too much pörn as someone else said.
